Former President Bill Clinton will campaign in Rhode Island for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio this week - despite the candidate recently telling President Obama, who refused to endorse Caprio, to "shove it," according to Politico.
The appearance, currently scheduled for Sunday, could give the Democrat a much-needed boost in the polls: According to a Rasmussen report from last Friday, Caprio trailed Independent Lincoln Chafee by seven points.

As I have stated in other threads, I am actuall leaning toward voting for Caprio, because he has the best chance of beating Lincoln Chaffee.
Here in New England, we conservatives don't vote for people, we vote against people. Chaffee must be stopped no matter what.
...and how could you not like someone who said publicly that "Obama can take his endorsement and shove it"?
Bill and Hillary are going to be the happiest Democrats in the country come Wednesday.
They already have a lot to be happy about. They are starting to see the fruits of their labor.
OMG!!! Perfectly, perfectly stated - 100% true!!!
Well I’m voting for the Republican and Chafee and Caprio can shoot it out with the brain dead democrat vote.
Nailed it...when I lived down south; I could vote FOR people...here in New England, there is no one to vote for... :-)
Formerly true.. however THIS year in Masshole land we have slew of great R candidates to vote for... Bielat, Hudak, Dembrowski, etc
You are right about Chafee he needs to be relegated to a porta potty in Pawtucket
My apologies...I should have typed ‘New Hampshire’, instead of ‘New England’...both Maine AND Massachusetts have candidates more conservative than the so-called ‘Live Free or Die’ state...
Anybody who has to hold their nose and vote for Charlie Bass-turd has my sympathy.
My wife and I were thinking the same way in order to stop Chafee, it now appears that Robataille has pulled ahead of Caprio so we are now going with Robataille. Chafee is running to Caprio’s left so I think Democrats are going to split between those two. Republicans and Independents will go for Robataille. I also think the fact that Loughlin is pulling even w/ Cicilline is good indicator for Robataille chances. Also, keep in mind that the mayoral race in Providence is noncompetitive. There’s a reason that all three candidates have big names in on Sunday and Monday (Clinton,Romney, Bloomberg), internal polling must show this thing to be close. Please consider going w/ Robataille, I think he’s got a legit shot.
I know nothing about Caprio (I’m not in RI) but I’d definitely take the line “anyone but Chafee”
It will be a turd in the punchbowl if Chafee gets to be Gov. in the midst of an otherwise big conservative thumping of the libs on Tuesday.
Between his work in Colorado, RI and Florida, Clinton is showing the coming rift between the Clintoons and (o)bama. Note Hitlerty is sitting the election out far over seas and Billie Boy is doing his best to support (o)bama’s enemies.
Pass the popcorn for the next two years. Between the not so subtle Clintoon attacks and the coming investigations from the Congress, the ass in chief will go off the rails big time.
The best part is Obama will never go away willingly. His ego won't permit it.
Shrewd those Clintons. Gotta respect them for that.
I will keep this in mind, and see how things go this weekend.
I really want to vote for a Republican, but Robatallie is just so boring and he isn't any more conservative than his old boss, Carcieri. He has been nothing but a blowhard Rino governor, and I have had it with that.
But job one is blocking Chaffee. For those who are out of the RI loop, the guy is actually running on the promise that he will RAISE taxes -- one percent on everything. And he is pals with Obama. Those two things should be enough for anyone.
(Again the NE defensive voting situation!)
Same thing here in NYS. Chuck U Schumer just sent two pieces of useless crap to my hubby (he’s an independent)
Well not completely useless. . . it makes great kindling for our two woodstoves.
Voting against people is what I’ll have to do for Chicago Mayor.
Rahm Emanuel, Former Senator Carol Mosley-Fraud. Such wonderful choices. ;d
OUCH!!! That calls for a blank ballot or a write in.
They aren’t the only 2 candidates, just the worst 2, so far.
Ok - gotcha. Hopefully a human being decides to run.
