Christine O'Donnell Closes Gap With Chris Coons In Pre-Gawker Poll
By Frank James Updated: 3 minutes ago
Christine O'Donnell is surging and not just in terms of web hits owing to the controversial Gawker story about her Halloween date three years ago.
A new Monmouth University poll has the Republican now just ten points behind Democrat Chris Coons in the U.S. Senate race.
Two weeks ago, Coons' lead was about 20-percentage points over O'Donnell whose candidacy was increasingly seen as doomed by many.
It still may be. A ten point lead in a statewide race is still substantial only days before an election.

HERE WE GO!
Something is going on, I heard BHO is headed to Delaware this weekend.
I’m not holding my breath, but if both Castle and Rove give a mea culpa and endorse her this weekend, it’s all over for Coony.
Idiots who watch TV empower these people. Keep watching morons.
Somebody call Joy Behar! We need Joy to help put Christine over the top!
“Something is going on, I heard BHO is headed to Delaware this weekend.”
According to the convoluted reasoning of some, this can only mean that Coons’ lead is expanding.

Obama will be in Philly (forget if it is Saturday or Sunday) but we’ve heard nothing about a side trip for Coons.
UP 4 with independents in the state.
“..... if both Castle and Rove give a mea culpa and endorse her this weekend...”
It is far more likely that I will discover the cure for cancer this weekend, learn to fly a space shuttle and spend next week parked on the moon.
THAT may be the reason Zero and VP Biteme have been spending time and the DNC’s dwindling resources in DE. Election Night promises to be all kinds of fun.
He’s coming to blue CT also to stump for Himes.
Kiss of electoral death we hope.
According to this one poll, and contrary to the Farleigh-Dickinson one released yesterday.
It's possible that Monmouth is correct ... but it's also possible that the F-D one is correct ... or that they're both wrong.
Actual answer is probably in the middle, which would put her slightly down among independents.
Based on the numbers in Delaware, she probably needs to be on the order of +15 among independents to have a chance of actually winning.
The Monmouth poll provides crosstabs, you can examine the reasonableness of their results.
The FDU does not.
An intelligent person cannot equate them.
From the Weekly Standard...
Democrats are supporting Coons by an 85% to 10% margin, while Republicans are supporting O'Donnell by only a 71% to 19% margin--perhaps not the most surprising result for a state where a quarter of Republicans voted for Obama in 2008.

What's encouraging about this poll is that Christine is starting to pick up "Obama Republicans".
I'll take it!
The F-D poll provides crosstabs as well.
An intelligent person would actually have researched the claim before casting the insult....
Unless a poll I’ve heard up has her up 4, I won’t dance naked in the streets yet.
BTW What’s the “gawker” story? I’ve heard it referenced but haven’t seen the actual story.
