I agree. And with the underlying premise that this is all based on having been destroyed, it’s utterly contemptible for them to push forward with Cap and Trade anyway.
Al Gore has about as much credibility these days as Pat Paulson did when he ran for president.
How many people work at the refineries? How many are union? How much do the companies pay in salary and benefits? How much does each facility generate in post tax revenue? How much will cap and tax cost the companies? How much would it cost to just close the refinery?
Run the numbers. If it is cheaper to close the refineries you close them.
The difference is that Pat Paulson was a comedian and Gore is a clown.
Pat Paulson was funny and Gore deserves jail-time for his foolish antics.
