Bill Clinton sought to persuade Rep. Kendrick Meek to drop out of the race for Senate during a trip to Florida last week and nearly succeeded.
Meek agreed twice to drop out and endorse Gov. Charlie Crists independent bid in a last-ditch effort to stop Marco Rubio, the Republican nominee who stands on the cusp of national stardom.
Meek, a staunch Clinton ally from Miami, has failed to broaden his appeal around the state and is mired in third place in most public polls, with a survey today showing him with just 15 percent of the vote. His withdrawal, polls suggest, would throw core Democratic voters to the moderate governor, rocking a complicated three-way contest and likely throwing the election to Crist.

Yeah, they’re mostly going along with it. Must be because they’re getting so desperate. Two weeks ago, they’d have been climbing the walls over this.

Just reading this very recent post:

It’s about how Republicans give little or no help to their Black Candidates.
Oh, the Irony!
....so Bubba’s doing Dumbo’s dirty work again....last time Sestak, in which clintoon denied doing anything. This time desperation requires expediency, so just do it in the open ...
(the media will protect them)..so what da ell. Did you bring enough money this time Bubba?
True....it could. But, I would think Rubio would still win.
Crist is a POS WHORE!.
Funny! Is that why he is so lean? His clothes are baggy on him.
The left will do anything to remain in power (or achieve power) at every level, in every office, at every turn.
Throwing Meek under the bus is not something most will object to (even the blacks). Sure, some will complain that it should have been Crist to drop out, but they would have collectively put their disagreements aside and unified. Remember, this is the party that got Torricelli to drop out and managed to get away with breaking the law and getting Lautenberg on the ballot to hold their Senate seat.
I bet they are STILL working on Meek to throw in the towel. I hear Crist will be on Olberman tonight and I am sure MSNBC is trying to help Crist rally the Democratic base behind him.
This is why 3rd party conservative bids of any kind (other than the rare exceptions like Tancredo in Colorado) are utterly stupid. The left will use EVERY trick to get power in this nation, and we need to make sure to stay unified.
Hey! Broccoli is good for you! Don’t insult broccoli!
Nothing on DU! Theyre still in shock, I imagine.

They’re trying to decide which liberal tact to take...race card or puppetmaster Bill out to get Obama, setting stage for Hillary.
Can Clinton convince 0 to quit?
I suspect the DU will be disappointed it didn’t happen.
Does Onyx know about this???
Short thread on DU.
Synopsis:
They are OK with throwing another Black man under the bus. Calling it a “nice try”.
Weasels!
Delicious.
Since Clinton is so willing to do this for Crist, you can count on there being a deal for Crist to caucus with the Dems if he were to make it to the Senate. What a snake!
So, Slick’s doing arm twisting for the white man and keeping the black man down? Pathetic.
I shouldn’t but I’ve developed a soft spot for Meeks. Maybe it’s our mutual disgust of Crist.
I smell a whisp of desperation.
Oh the travails of the ex-demonRAT presidents. They just can’t help themselves. As though their presidential legacies are so pure and unblemished, they have to go and f#$k up what’s left of their post presidential legacies too, the little busybody squirms.
Didn’t clintoon get himself right in the middle of it with the Sestak dustup as well?
