Jackson Lee wants DOJ to monitor tea partiers at polls

By: Simmi Aujla October 28, 2010 04:21 PM EDT

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) is asking the Department of Justice to investigate whether tea party groups are intimidating black and Hispanic voters in her district.

Jackson Lee has asked Attorney General Eric Holder to send poll monitors to her district on Nov. 2 to make sure the King Street Patriots, a local conservative voter turnout and tea party group, aren’t stopping people from voting.

“Many of these incidents of voter intimidation have been occurring in predominately minority neighborhoods and have been directed at African-Americans and Latinos,” she said in the letter. “It is unconscionable to think that anyone would deliberately employ the use of such forceful and intimidating tactics in 2010 to undermine the fundamental, constitutional right to vote.”

“I urge you to order an immediate investigation into these incidents, and call for the Department of Justice to send poll monitors to Harris County immediately to ensure a safe and neutral voting environment during the Nov. 2 election,” Jackson Lee wrote.

She’s just pissed because her neighborhood gentrified. And her main employer, Continental Airlines got swooped out from under her nose. She deserves to lose. She’s always deserved to lose because she’s a loser but if there’s any hope, she’s the prototype of who needs to be swept from power. A more arrogant dumbass there may not be.

One of the first things Congress under Reagan passed was restoring the right to set speed to limits to the states. That was an obvious crowd pleaser. And nothing would please me more than to see the roll back of early voting. Early voting was given to democrats after the 2000 elections. Another in a long line of stupid damn things so called conservatives allowed to happen. It should be rolled back to the way it was, old people and the infirmed can vote early. People away on a trip could too. But everyone else got in line. Add more voting stations. The idea that the perpetual victims of the liberal democrat party wouldn’t use early voting as a political tool was beyond naive.

Intimidation is the tool of amateurs.

We don't intimidate.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Even excrement has a useful purpose

I just spread about 500 pounds of horse sheila on my garden this week.

Wonder how the costs of early voting versus voting on Election day, with Absentees, compare? It has to be much more expensive to pay poll workers for 10 or 11 days.

Well, it is our tax dolars at work.

Heh, I thought this was something from The Onion.

I plan on going to every poll in my town with a video camera, 100 ft long tape measure, chalk and speed dial to the police station. I'm not going to let union thugs steal this election.

Isn’t her district mostly crack houses? 4th ward or something like that?

It's actually doughnut-shaped, one of those gerrymandered abominations intended by Richard Nixon to pen up black voters in Third World hellhole districts where they can abuse themselves and everyone else pent up with them to their heart's content, and become laughingstocks like McKinney and Jackson Lee and Adam Clayton Powell (whose old district is now held by Charlie Rangel).

That was the theory, anyway. George Bush Sr. used to represent this district, and then it was gerrymandered for Barbara Jordan.

Jackson Lee then speed-dialed Vinny's Pizza Quickies.

"I'm starved watching these stupid people vote early. Make that three double
pepperoni pizzas, four gallons of Pepsi red, and three loaves of garlic bread.
And deliver it in 10 minutes to my car. "
