Karl Rove, Republican political strategist and the general behind George Bush's presidential victories, has been taking pot shots at some conservative favorites.
His latest target, former Alaska governor and Tea Party darling, Sara Palin.
Palin, Mr. Rove told Britain's The Daily Telegraph, lacked the "gravitas" to be president in 2012.
He dissed her new Alaska reality series as a bad political move.
With all due candour, appearing on your own reality show on the Discovery Channel, I am not certain how that fits in the American calculus of 'that helps me see you in the Oval Office, Rove told the Telegraph.
QUIZ: How well do you know Sarah Palin? Take the quiz
Sarah Palin has been an influential player in the midterm elections, traveling and speaking around the United States and endorsing a range of candidates, often the same candidates endorsed by the Tea Party movement. But Palin has not declared herself a candidate in the 2012 presidential election.
How serious is this conservative rift between Rove and Palin?
Rove's views often represent the Republican establishment. And he's got a reputation for knowing how to win. George W. Bush called him "The Architect" of Bush's gubernatorial and presidential victories. Rove also guided the successful campaigns of several governors and members of Congress.
But he's critical of some of the Tea Party-backed candidates endorsed by Palin, including Christine O'Donnell in the Delaware Senate race.
He's not a fan.
Ive met her. I wasnt frankly impressed by her abilities as a candidate, Rove said on Fox News last month. One thing that ODonnell is now going to have to answer in the general election that she didn't in the primary is her own checkered background.
There were a lot of nutty things she has been saying that don't add up, Rove added.

because Rove has no career future in a GOP that is dominated by the Tea Party
You suck.
“because Rove has no career future in a GOP that is dominated by the Tea Party”
Got that right!
HERETIC!!!!
Rove is afraid of being shown up by real conservatism.
Because if they both succeed, Carl Rove will become irrelevent.
Rove blew it. I think he’s finished.
Rove and Bush are and always were part of the machine. The machines of both parties have no intention of actually changing anything fundamentally. Window dressing to try and distract and appease the rank and file is their main goal.
The growth of the Federal Government hasn’t stopped under the GOP machine, I refuse to delude myself into thinking the GOP machine will do anything different until the grass roots makes the change themselves.
Palin needs to say just one word and the Rove balloon deflates: LOSER.
Like Gingrich, Rove needs to find another life—whether he can or not. His time, for what it was worth, has come and gone.
Maybe you haven’t noticed, but Onada, his band of angry commies and media propaganda organs are attacking anything that moves—to include voters. That doesn’t qualify Rove as being “important”—just visible.
Not to mention likely doubling or even tripling the number of vacationers that will be traveling to Alaska next year after seeing Palin’s show.
I love that. Best laugh of the day.
Sean is equally complicit!
On WABC in NYC, Sean just came on the radio to promo his own show as Rush's show was ending. Guess who Sean is having on to defend himself for some negative comments he made in Germany about the Tea Party?
That's right, Tokyo Rove.
I repeat my question. Why does Sean continually give this traitor a platform? If he didn't have Sean, where would Tokyo Rove find an outlet?
This, to me, makes Sean equally as complicit as Tokyo Rove.
I like the analogy of Reagan and his 20-mule-team Borax commercials. Clearly, Reagan did not have gravitas, right, Carl?
What a shill - the questions is, for whom?
Snake vs. President Mongoose.
Glad I could help.... although the hyperventilation on this thread is pretty funny, too.
