President Barack Obama, taping Comedy Centrals The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, gave a shout-out to Lawrence Summers one the outgoing director of the White House National Economic Council probably could have done without.
Mr. Summers did a heckuva job, Mr. Obama said. Mr. Stewart quickly admonished: You dont want to use that phrase, dude.
The reference, of course, was to former President George W. Bushs praise of then-FEMA director Michael Browns management of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts a job widely considered bungled.

it’s not the phrase but the idea behind the phrase.
Mr. Summers did a lousy job.
The president goes on a show where the host calls him "dude." Great. Way to raise the level of debate and discourse in the country.

Oh well that’s not funny at all if that’s what he was going for we all know the economy sucks and I think that’s in large part due to obama’s spending as far as summer’s all he really did was fall asleep during meetings had no real input at all from what I could see.
The telling moment for me was when 0bama said to Stewart, “...[our new slogan] will be “Yes we Can....[but]” and Stewart cracked up.
Oh I didn’t see it just saw the article I guess that would have made me laugh too.
Yeah...listen again....right after 0bama says [yes we can] “BUT”, 0bama has one of those pregnant pauses where he is composing his thoughts, no doubt preparing his next piece of brilliance...and Stewart cracks up like I’ve never heard him crack up before. Not that I’d a good judge of that; but Stewboy just breaks out laughing.
I heard it too and just gave a little sigh thinking “that guy is a lightweight”. He didn’t even realize just how wrong that sounds.
Sort of like “I voted for it before I voted against it”
FU dude.
And to make his gaffe worse Pres 0 followed up with “pun intended” as if he knew the implications of what he was saying thus completely negating his attempted follow-up at praise for Summers.
Teleprompter needed. He’s just not quick on his feet enough to keep up with a comedian.
He would have said “Mission Accomplished” on destroying this country, but theres still so much more he wants to do in that regard.
OK I’ll go watch it but I just found something interesting that was supposed to be on the show...
Obama No Longer Bothering to Lie Credibly: Claims Financial Crisis Cost Less Than S&L Crisis
snippet...
1% of GDP, that I barely know where to begin. Not only does this Administration lie on a routine basis, it doesnt even bother to tell credible lies. .And this one came directly from the top, not via minions. Its not that this misrepresentation is earth-shaking, but that it epitomizes why the Obama Administration is well on its way to being an abject failure.
On the Jon Stewart Show (starting roughly at the 1:10 mark on this segment) Obama claims the cost of this crisis will be less than 1% of GDP, versus 2.5% for the savings and loan crisis

Plus, it wasn't a pun! The man's a dangerous dummy.
(Obama saying Larry did a ‘heckofa job’) wouldn’t be that big of a deal if the media hadn’t critizised it to death when GWB said it. They let a minor, nothing comment by Bush be the news story of the decade, while every single day idiotic comments ten times worse fall from Obama’s lips and the media yawns.
