Federal agents arrested a man Wednesday for plotting to bomb the Washington, D.C., subway system, the Justice Department announced. It was the second arrest in as many days involving Americans hoping to wage violence for al-Qaida or the Taliban, and federal law enforcement officials believe it is part of a wider attempt to launch terrorist attacks.
Farooque Ahmed, 34, of Ashburn, Va., was indicted Wednesday for attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization, collecting information to assist in planning a terrorist attack on a transit facility, and attempting to provide material support to help carry out multiple bombings in the D.C. Metro subway system.
Ahmed's arrest follows that of Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, arrested Tuesday in Hawaii for lying about a failed attempt to go to Pakistan and join the Taliban. Shehadeh said he was planning to travel to Pakistan to wage jihad, but after that plan failed he tried to join the U.S. Army. According to the indictment, Shehadeh said that in the Army he "would be provided with training, transportation and a weapon" that would help him attack Americans.
Ahmed and Shehadeh are considered to be part of a wider plan by U.S. citizens or residents hoping to serve elements of the Taliban and al-Qaida to conduct terrorist attacks throughout the country, a federal law enforcement official told IPT News.

Wow those blown up school children’s bodies in Pakistan sure to look like the real thing. /s
Unexpectedly surprising!
Sometimes it’s necessary to just punch them. Hard.
If they want more info..pass them my FRmail add.
Keep up the great work.
So....we know more operatives are traveling. Hopefully, that also means we're keeping an eye on them?
yep, those Swedes are really getting into exotic names these days.
They’ve been playing this 24/7 on WMAL. I wanna know if this wasn’t entrapment.
Plus this guy sounds like he’s not the brightest bulb in the drawer.
Eventually the USA will find it absolutely necessary to restrict all travel/immigration to/from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Egypt, Somalia. That would be the single best step to prevent foreign terrorism in the USA.
Having done that, there will then be a chance to eventually strangle the home grown Muslim terror problem - but this is only IF the USA stops allowing travel and exchange for these people with their backward, violent homelands.
haven’t been listening
I believe her too. Stuff like that made me decide to carry every day.
Me, too.
When is the jacka$$ in the White House and his fellow travelers gonna wake up? Probably when we’re all dead.
He doesn’t seem to like America or Americans anyway.
mooslim credo: I love you. I will kill you and your children. Boom! Slash!

Juan Williams better just stick to driving himself to work. The guy can’t win.
All the subway stations are prime targets by Al Qaeda and their affinity groups, which range from Arabs, Arab-Americans, immigrants, illegal immigrants, to non-Arab Moslems (i.e. Somalis, Sudanese, Iranians, renegade Iraqis, Malayans, Thais, Japanese (remember the deadly Japanese Red Army), Palestinians, newly recruited Latin American moslems, American Black Muslims, white communists, white moslems and the mentally ill).
This list is one I made up about 9 years ago. DHS and Napolitano have no idea what I just wrote. They are still looking for “good ole boys” with bibles and rifles.
Next on the target list are sports events stadium and schools, esp. elementary schools.
They are not interested in Congress. Even that place is repulsive to them.
Some people understand terrorism and some don’t (Obama, Biden, Napolitano, Brenner, Pelosi, etc).
And kill Americans by night?
A balding, middle aged, white guy no doubt upset with health care reform.
Personally I'd go for the entire mosque membership roster be deported, and the land converted to a sausage making facility!
