As an avid hunter and conservationist, I hope Sheboygan area voters remember State Rep. Terry Van Akkeren selling out his constituents just a few years ago. Remember when Rep. Van Akkeren told us he supported concealed carry during his campaigns and then voted for concealed carry legislation in 2003, voted for the veto override in 2004, and voted for similar legislation that was eventually vetoed by Gov. Doyle in 2006?
I admired Terry for standing up to a Democratic Party that on a whole is hostile to Second Amendment rights and representing his constituents.
That was until Gov. Doyle needed him to switch his vote because he was on the verge of having his veto overridden. A little pressure from the governor and our "voice in Madison" sold out his constituents and switched his vote to save Jim Doyle from an embarrassing veto override.
I remember, and that's why I'm supporting Mike Endsley for Assembly.

The NRA endorsed (D) Terry Van Akkeren in 2004.
