Palin hasn't announced whether or not she will even run. So why is he dangling his endorsement around?

McCain't doesn't want to rub his liberal buds the wrong way, ya know. He'll just stand there for 2 years with his wetted finger testing the current political winds to make sure he is being "bipartisan"...and of course, he'll have to seek Megan's permission, too.
