I think they had dedicated servers, but you can use eMule or FileDonkey to get around that - they're not centralized P2P services, and it would be a bitch to try to shut them down. You can find updated server lists for them all over the net. Not that I ever used them, though.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. I thought I was a heavy user of Limewire, but they were down over a month before I realized it. But then I really needed it. I tried your filedonkey suggestion and that was painfully slow.

However, on a lark, I googled “limewire vs” and discovered something called frostwire. http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/guide/FrostWire-vs-Limewire.html

I’ll be trying that out tonight. :)
