Boner and Can'tor want the Tea Party caucus staffered by people with their own insiders. They are afraid for their leadership positions, and for good reason!

THEY STILL DON’T/WON’T GET IT.
Memo to Candidates - bring people you can trust. Tell the RINOs to pack sand.

The professional staff are part of the problem. They are part of the garbage that needs to be taken out with this election.

I agree that the newly elected reps will need a veteran staffer to keep things going smoothly, but each new arrival should bring someone with him/her to keep a close watch on what is going on. This person needs to outrank the “veteran” in the pecking order.

If I had been elected, arrived at my new offices, and had a bunch of people I didn't know tell me they were my new "staff"...

Hey Republicans:
We are voting for you to stop the bleeding, not because we miss you. WE DON'T.
If you don't dial in real quick, YOU'RE NEXT!

That's it, exactly. The BIG problem, that will be made worse if allowed to, are the Committee Staffs ... which will be under the control of the 'old guard' and will have even more power if the Freshman staff their offices completely with campaign staff/outsiders.
Smart incoming members will find a way to balance their staffs so they can champion and effect reform while also working effectively within the byzantine nature of Congressional politics.
That calls for lots of reform-minded staff, but also a couple/few (maybe 25-30%) "DC Insiders" who understand how the game is played and will work to help the Freshman keep the Leadership and Committee Staffs honest and forward-looking.

I hope that the newcomers do not take this advice. These professional “staffers” are a large part of the problem in D.C., and they need to go. The current crop of Republicans in D.C. need to go ASAP, IMO. Their are precious few worth keeping and the status quo needs to go.

Any congressional staff member, lobbyist, or aid should be treated like the German V-2 rocket scientists we...uhm...encouraged...to emigrate to the US after WWII. Handcuff them to a drafting board and extract all the knowledge and expertise they can bring. But don’t trust them or let them direct your actions for one cotton picking second....
We need new blood. Not blue blood.
