No, Perriello has been considered a goner for a long time now. The only question was who was going to be the Republican candidate to take his place. It should not be even close.

Obama is just going through the motions. Very few college studenhts, I have read, are going to participate in this elections without The One on the ballot.

You’re thinking of Boucher’s seat. Boucher, a Blue Dog, was thought to be cruising to re-election a month ago.

I have no idea why Obama is going to U of Virginia. Its students are from all over the state and all over the world. And, actually, it’s not big as compared to U. of Wisconsin at Madison.

I’m half-way of the opinion this UVA appearance is because they’re trying to make it look like the guy is campaigning when they’re actually keeping him away from the real hot spots.

This appearance is going to help Republicans win three Virginia Congressional seats currently held by Democrats and may even have implication for the West Virginia Senate race and a few Congressional races in West Virginia and western North Carolina.
