EXCLUSIVE:
Fox News Channel's signature news anchor Shepard Smith has signed a new multi-year deal to continue as the channel's lead news anchor as well as anchor of FOX Report and Studio B. Smith's most recent pact with Fox News inked in 2007 was for 3 years and nets him $7 million-8 million a year.
Fox News is expected to announce Smith's re-signing this afternoon. Smith, who is a guest on The View today to talk about midterm election coverage will also probably address his new contract on the ABC talk show where his Fox News colleague Bill O'Reilly recently made headlines with his visit.
Smith is one of Fox News' original stars, having joined the channel at its inception in 1996 as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. For the past 11 years, he has anchored FNC's signature 7 PM newscast The FOX Report with Shepard Smith since, which has dominated its timeslot for more than 100 consecutive months, averaging 1.8 million viewers.
He has covered such news events as Hurricane Katrina; the Middle East conflict, 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Columbine school massacre and President Clintons impeachment.
When Shep comes on, FNC goes off.
Affirmative Action (lite in the loafers)
7-8 million a year? WTF!! he’s nothing but a smirky arrogant piece of crap. I can just see this guy in the bars at night preying on women for a quick piece.
He belongs on NPR.
Agree - Aaarggh ....
Damn! It must be some sort of contagion as EXACTLY the same thing happens here at this house!
I learned decades ago (in the late Seventies to be exact) that the Pink Mafia in Washington is incredibly close-knit and powerful. Fox is probably wise not to cross them.
“...........see this guy in the bars at night preying on women for a quick piece”
I don’t think women need to fear, if you know what I mean.
A total libtard, limp-wristed puke.
I don’t understand this. Fox must have a token fag policy. Every time Shep comes on the screen, I switch the channel within 5 seconds.
What a douche bag. I avoid him as much as I avoid the CBS-ABC-NBC-CNN sh##bags.
Say it ain’t so, Roger.
Shep may not be as conservative as I would like but he is good at his job, quite clever and makes me chuckle sometimes.
That’s not bad.
Come on....you don’t like the trampoline bear alerts?
Nooooo, not women!
Ha! Ill refer to an earlier post, something about light in the loafers.
Worse thing to come out of Holly Springs MS.
