SNIPPET: “Brooklyn federal prosecutors yesterday told a judge that theyve obtained e-mail correspondence from Anwar al-Awlaki, a Yemeni-American cleric who was killed Sept. 30 by a missile launched from a drone, to Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, 22, a Staten Islander who aspired to travel abroad and join the jihad against US forces.
In addition to e-mail letters to Anwar al-Awlaki, Assistant US Attorney James Loonam told the judge that the prosecution also has tapes of phone calls they plan to use as evidence in Shehadehs upcoming trial.”
