Good point. As someone who’s come out against Dede Scozzafava, Lindsey Graham, Lincoln Chafee (in 2000, before joining FR), and Lisa Murkowski, I also support Joseph Cao. I don’t support his health care reform vote at all, but it’s not like anyone one else from New Orleans would vote any better.

I find it encouraging that Cao is getting cross party endorsements. It would be a huge coup if Deuce McAllister of the New Orleans Saints were to endorse him.

Cao voted against both the stimulus bill and the obamacare bill.

Not entirely true. Cao was the lone Republican vote in favor of Obamacare the first time the House voted on it. When they voted on the Senate version (the one that eventually passed), Cao voted no.

How does Licoln Chaffe/Colin Powell sound? Although you would never admit it, that is what you are arguing for.

No. That is not what I am arguing for. But you have already posted that you would prefer that the corrupt democrat should win over a moderate republican.

Yep, you are irrational. The choice for this particular election is Cao or Cedric Richmond who is a known corrupt and Dollar Bill Jefferson clone. Out of the two choices available for the seat the rational conservative choice is Cao. He was unopposed in the primary for the record.

A “principled” vote in that election results in the Congressional Black Caucus gaining a new lifetime member. It also is a vote to keep the Wicked Witch of the West as the Majority Leader.

THis isn’t about party but strategy. Politics requires thinking past the ideology at times. The purists fail to grasp that and hence we end up with the total opposite type of candidate gaining a lifetime seat. A “principled” vote in this election is a vote for a marxist democrat who will vote 100% of the time with the 0bama agenda.

I’d be embarrassed if I had spent last night and this morning defending Cao. Multiple sources provided, take your pick. Thanks, stg!

Not as embarrassed as you should be defending picking a corrupt democrat over Cao.

Not once did I defend picking a corrupt democrat. I merely want a consistent conservative, not someone who claims to be conservative, but then votes for 0bamacare and is willing to consider voting for Pelosi as speaker. How can you defend a person who cannot say, with conviction, I will never vote for Nancy Pelosi?

You said you would dance a jig to celebrate the corrupt democrats win over Cao.

Here is your post which clearly says you would rather see the corrupt democrat win rather than 'rino' Cao.

"I would rather be in principled minority than a majority full of RINOs."

Not once did I defend picking a corrupt democrat.

I finally realized that you are correct. Not once, at least three times ...see the below

Cao is as conservative as it will get.

If being the only (R) to vote for 0bamacare is as conservative as it gets in that district, I say let the dems have it.

And I stand by that comment. I will dance in celebration of a RINO being culled from the herd. I am not surprised when a liberal democrat votes like a liberal. I cannot stand it when a supposed conservative votes like a liberal. Once again, you are supporting the likes of Collins, Chaffe, Graham, Snowe, and Powell. They are the type of politicians that got us into this mess, and you somehow expect them and their ilk to get us out? I would rather lose a seat than win and get shafted everytime this lib decides to “cross party lines.”

It doesn't matter how many times you say it, noting for Nancy Pelosi is not conservative.

Supporting Cao over a corrupt democrat is NOT supporting Collins, Chaffe, Graham, Snowe, and Powell as you say it. However, you statements supporting Cao's defeat and the election of a corrupt democrat are perfectly clear.

You said Cao is conservative. Your guy said he would consider supporting Nancy Pelosi for speaker. Anyone that considers voting Pelosi anything but GUILTY is not a conservative.

BTW, I never said I supported picking a corrupt democrat, but somehow you attributed those words to me. (even though you supplied a quote of mine that said no such thing) I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong and I see no point in that.

But he will vote for Boehner.

You don't understand what he did. Cao only voted for Obamacare after they hit the magic 218 number. He did this to satisfy his district. He always said that he would not be one of the votes that passed the bill.

He did vote against the final bill.

He is the best we are going to get in that district. I would gladly vote for him if I live there.
