President Obama's aides have booked the entire Taj Mahal hotel ahead of the president's high-profile visit to the Indian city rocked by a terrorist attack two years ago, The Economic Times reports. The newspaper reported that the Obama administration has reserved all 570 rooms, as well as the hotel's restaurants, to ensure airtight security when the president and first lady Michelle Obama visit Mumbai early next month. Dozens of other rooms have been booked elsewhere in the city. The Times reported that downtown Mumbai will be under heavy security while the president is in town

Early next month?
Like Nov 3rd or after?
He may stay there...
Why would they need such security, I thought Zer0 was loved and cherished by all in the world.
I guess they just want "run of the house" accomodations.
How much is this going to cost us?
All presidents book the entire hotel. On a Clinton trip to Shanghai, Clinton booked all 900+ rooms of the Ritz Carlton.
The liberation of America from this horrific tyranny: November, 2012.
First skirmish in the war takes place a week from Tuesday.
Gee that won’t cost taxpayers much. /sarc
Press would be flipping out over Bush doing this after raising the debt a few trillion, AND keeping us in Iraq and shifting a bunch of troops over to Afghanistan.
Where’s the counts we got during the lead-offs of the nightly news? WHere are the complaints by the dems the country’s in the toilet because we were wasting money on wars? Where’s the liberal outcry this president tacked on a few trillion in debt in under 20 months? With no help to the unemployment figures? Everywhere they go they book far more stuff than they need at tremendous cost to the taxpayers - like they personally want to help spend the country into the crapper. Really. Marxists like to live high on the other person’s hog, I tell ya.
I want to see the list of names of who’s going on this trip. Another article stated that the number of rooms, if you did the math, was 855+ (in about 4 hotels).
Militant Michelle, is going to visit sex workers.
Those two are such a waste of resources and credibility.
This might all be true...but didn’t Andrew Jackson rent all three rooms of Lexington, Ky boarding house when he came through?
And didn’t President Jefferson rent two rooms in Philly during his stay there?
Just imagine the entourage and mega-sized review of our President in 2060. Two thousand hotel rooms in London....1,500 rooms in Bangkok. All in the interest of hearing a rock-star American President.
He should be able to absorb a terrorist attack just like he said we could.
i’m so glad i could pay for their ‘bling’ tour
/sarc
anger isn’t enough to describe being stolen from on a daily basis and having the criminals flaunt my hard earned income in my face
From a security standpoint that makes perfect sense... seriously. Granted they could have booked a smaller hotel, but getting all the rooms is common sense considering the severe terrorist attacks that have occurred there and in the area. This was likely NOT an Obama decision but a secret service one.
Our representatives, including the President, Secretary of State and Ambassadors, are just that, representatives of the common American Citizen. They should be treated with respect, housed nicely, and able to travel securely, but why should they be treated like Kings? Men and women fought and died to end this bs about royalty and the right of Kings. After they leave office, why do we need to pay for their security or retirement? After all, they are just common citizens returning to the crowd.
MMMMMMMMMMMM... MMMMMMMMMMMMM... MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

He is leaving Washington on the night of Nov 4th.
Rat leaving the sinking ship, IMO.
He is also going to Indonesia-—his boyhood home.
I pity the fate of Indian lobsters...
Do Moose Limbs make the Secret Service feel nervous like Juan Williams feels?
The real questions are: What gift will he bear?? And how many times will he bow??
