Palin rallies GOP in Fla., says time to dig deep

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin speaks to supporters at a Republican National Committee rally in Orlando, Fla., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010

The momentum of the midterm elections is with the GOP, but now is not the time for supporters to let up, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told a jubilant crowd of Florida Republicans on Saturday.

"Now is the time to dig deep," Palin said with 10 days to go until the elections. Hundreds of Republicans with "Fire Pelosi" and "Listen to Me!" signs clapped, hooted and waved American flags in the ballroom of an Orlando hotel near Walt Disney World. The gathering was cast as a fundraising rally but had the feel of a county fair.

Palin took aim at President Barack Obama, saying he needed to apologize to the 14.8 million people unemployed in the U.S.

"You know, the president is now telling us that we're not thinking straight because of all the fear and frustration," Palin said. "You know Mr. President, you have it right on one point there. We are afraid, knowing that your economic policies are driving us off a cliff."

Appearing with Palin were top GOP fundraisers, Republican national committee members and conservative activists such as anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist. The former Alaska governor also was joined by Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio.

thank you for your posts and enthusiasm re Sarah. There is so much negativity, so much to despair about out there, I can’t believe someone would complain about another’s positive interest in a political figure.

I always liked Sarah, what’s not to like... but it was through FR posts that I got my first glimpse of the depth of Sarah’s character... and how deeply she resonates with people... now I’m a fan, too. I guess you can count me a notch on your belt... :)

Oh, thank you for your kind words and sweet sentiment regarding Sarah Palin! We on Sarah List think very highly of her and appreciate her good works.

I also appreciate the good work of Senator DeMint on behalf of conservative candidates. His goals and Governor Palin’s are the same: they’re both working hard to elect conservative candidates to the US Senate, and she is working hard across the country to elect conservative candidates to governorships, the House, and to state offices, where ever she possibly can.

Onto VICTORY November 2nd!

Thanks again for your comments. Very much appreciated!!!

Senator DeMint's Defining Moment...

Promotes Redistributing Power to States

By Melanie Starkey

Roll Call Staff

 Sept. 19, 2010, 11:41 a.m.

“I would support a devolution of power out of Washington for education, health care, transportation, and I’ve introduced a lot of legislation for that, too,” DeMint added, saying the power should go to the states. “And you can do it in a common-sense, reasonable way that doesn’t disrupt any of the activities that we support.” more

When you hear any member of the Tea Party talk  about shutting down specific departments in the US government, the above is what they are talking about - not the elimination of the department or agency - but reorienting, restructuring it to the state level, with state and local participation.  It doesn't take a lot of imagination to perceive how this could be a real cure for what is ailing the decaying education system, for starters.   UNDERSTAND AND SPEAK UP.

A Defining Moment

"I was there when we had the numbers, but didn't have the principles.''  ~Senator James DeMint

What follows is a real-life lesson in the painful dogged process of changing the individual truth of an individual life - sometimes 1 board post at a time.  I know there are boards and forums you can visit, post relentlessly on your face page, your other social netoworks... talk to people, engage.  Each, each - that means you - needs a posse of 100 going to the polls on Tuesday.  100.  If I were you, I'd start now.

not me:

I’ve given a lot of thought to this one.

I’ve supported every tea party candidate. And there’s no question that Castle is beyond RINO. He’s a liberal.

But because Castle can win the general (Christine unequivocally cannot), for a while I was grudgingly hoping Castle would win. I’ve changed my mind.

Even though O’Donnell will lose in the general - and make no mistake, she’ll get slaughtered - I think it’s important tactically for the long term that Castle’s type be rooted out. One thing that hasn’t been much discussed is the salutary effect the defeats of the Murkowskis and Bennetts might have going forward on GOP office holders. Maybe Goober Graham will think a bit next time he thinks about supporting amnesty, knowing the right is able and willing to mount a campaign to unseat him in a primary. McCain’s probably beyond hope - he has no principles whatsoever. But others on the fence might stay better in line if they know we’re willing to knock them out even if it means a loss in the general.

Short term tactical loss.....long term solid gain for conservatism. Jim DeMint put it very well on Mark Levin’s show today. “I was there when we had the numbers, but didn’t have the principles.” He and others seem determined to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

So so I can hope anyway.

me:

I have been thinking the same thing through and I know many others have, also...

At first I thought you take the republican who can win - winning is all that matters. You make a hard decision because the number of votes is all that counts.

I think Jim DeMint may have made the defining statement about all these sorts of questions - “I was there when we had the numbers, but didn’t have the principles.”

I finally get it - having the numbers doesn’t mean anything unless you have the principles - and for the time being anyway, the republicans don’t have the numbers or the principles... maybe Nov 2 will help with both - numbers and principles.

I feel a lot better...

GO CHRISTINE!!

****

Onyx, I have a blog for a little group I mentor online, there is lots of free stuff for lots of different candidates, please help yourself...if you think any are worthile...

Over ten million words have been written, spoken, and screamed about Sarah Palin.  I would like to add three...

She's a Lady.

Sarah ninja-pin-1-2

In closing it is fantastically imperative to reiterate one fundamental element of Sarah Palin’s political and personal persona: she is first and foremost a Christian. Second, and equally as important, she is a Constitutionalist. Defining those terms in the context of how she will lead a country requires one simple review of the Founding Fathers. She has never allowed religion to interfere with her duties as a servant to the people—ever. She has forever listened to the voice of the people—always. She has in all public duties eschewed obfuscation—consistently. She is the one true voice of the people—and so too have her soldiers, her armies, always been. This city on the hill has grown dim. Sarah Louise Palin is the lantern to light that torch for the world to once again turn towards.  more

the above is an incredible article about sarah...

I visited your site, thanks. Nice work! I donated to several candidates this election season -— small amounts because that’s all I can afford.

Lt. Col Adam West was one, O’Donnell was another and I’m not at all convinced that she’s going to lose! I do not go by polls, even the more reliable polls like Rasmussen. *This* election is entirely different from previous elections. Democrats just might be surprised by the number of their white moderate voters who either stay home or vote Republican. Delaware has a fairly large black population, but will those voters be inspired to go to the polls to vote for Coons when obama is not on the ballot?

Senator DeMint remains in my good stead. I’m not worried about what you noted as your ‘defining moment’. There’s much more pressing issues, like repealing obamacare, which, unless the courts strike it down, it will take two elections to repeal the damn monstrosity: i.e. POTUS Sarah Palin and a GOP Congress.

:)
