Does anybody remember a little dust-up at a fringe-type Church in Waco, Texas? Thereve been millions of words written about it since then so youd have to be living in a hole to not have heard of it. Of course there are different opinions as to who was at fault, who fired the first shots, who lit the match, etc., etc. Some things were and are not a matter of conjecture though.
Prior to the initial face-off, agents of the ATF were in contact with David Koresh on a fairly regular basis. He was also aware that they were interested in what sort of weapons he had at his disposal. He also offered to meet with them to discuss these subjects an offer they ignored. We all know how that turned out.
Over in Alabama we now have a fellow by the name of Mike Vanderboegh who has little or no respect for the ATF and shows it frequently on his blog. The ATF and various other alphabet agencies subscribe to the views of the Southern Poverty Law Center (I think most of us have our own opinion of that group) who continually refer to Mike as the leader of a violence-prone militia.
The Kansas City Terrorism Early Warning Group has evidently become somewhat concerned with Mike and the content of a novel he has written. In an effort to clear the air, Mike has offered to speak to the group and give them his version of what he is doing.
Much as David Koresh did.
Will the authorities in this case also ignore the offer? If so, will they later take some sort of more direct action against him, a la Waco? Perhaps, but this time we have the advantage of the internet to spread the word and thus keep those authorities honest.
For more information on the subject I suggest you go to http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-offer-to-kansas-city-sneeze-kctew.html

Of course all this could be an exercise in futile rumor-mongering. Or not.
It would be nice if he had some sort of way of communicating with the outside world other than through the FBI should they decide to lay siege to his place. The FBI wasn’t entirely honest with either the Davidians nor with the rest of the world about what was going on.
“The Feds slaughtered everyone they could on the last day of the Branch Davidian standoff.”
Isn’t that more or less the objective in a battle?

Did someone mention Joe Biden and Waco?
Mount Carmel was a watershed in American history. When the collectivists in the White House can choose
to burn down a church with the congregants inside,
without a trial by jury,
we have descended into into tyranny. These same people will castigate you
for speaking the truth about Muslims.
Well not since Custer has it been Federal policy to kill all including women and children, until klintoon.
There’s only one of him so the parallel is closer with that Randy Weaver guy in Idaho than Waco.
I read is blog frequently. He’s only saying what a lot of us are already thinking.
You’re only going to push me so far. Then all bets are off.
The BATFags still go foaming-at-the-mouth crazy if you show them a copy of "Unintended Consequences"...or say NPR when it hears Juan Williams letting a tiny bit of truth slip out.
So, you are wrong.
Maybe _jim will re-up his account.
You're right. Citizens are the enemy of the federal government, and need to be exterminated.
That old constitution-thingy is so outdated.
“I don’t want to see Mike’s house burnt down and bulldozed just because of his opinions.”
Declare it a Mosque and his safety will be assured, at least from our government. The Muslims may be another story.
First of all, I think those folks at Waco were loony. They were stockpiling automatic weapons, and polygamy was rampant. The place was a loony-bin.
Second, I think the ATF responded in a very unprofessional way. Things went wrong that could've been avoided.
But when the crap hit the spinner, the marshals and agents responded in the only way they could. Just because the Branch Davidians were American citizens doesn't mean they were exempt from return-fire.
As far as who lit the place on fire, who shot the babies...Who knows who did it? But as I said, the Branch Davidians were more than a little unhinged, so i'd lean toward them as the culprits.
WRONG! First sentence out and it's wrong. The incident occurred at Mount Carmel, not Waco. Waco simply was the closest town large enough to accomodate all the media and LE.
There was no "return fire" on the day of the massacre.
That is proven in the FLIR video taken by the FBI and analyzed in the link I provided.
There was lots of automatic gunfire aimed inward, however, as defenseless people tried to escape the flames.
But since your opinion is that they were "loony," then we don't really need to concern ourselves further. People that you consider to be "loonies" obviously deserve anything that they get.
IMHO, her and Reno should be still in federal prison for crimes against the Branch Davidians as well as about a dozen other cold bloodied murders that covered up this travesty .
I can also hear her crackling "Burn it down to the ground"
I have a copy of the FLIR video around here somewhere but appreciate this opportunity to review it without doing a house search.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind about what happened here. Those who were assaulting the Branch Dividian compound were enraged at having been rebuffed and, in some cases, set fleeing. They simply took revenge for what had happened to them and the FLIR videos provided the details of that revenge. We had a government in place that refused to bring their own people to justice and simply and purposely misinterpreted the evidence. I'm satisfied that Janet Reno and company knew exactly what took place and simply denied it.
