What was your impression of the voting at the polls where you worked? Do you believe vote fraud was occuring or do you believe the process was largely free of fraud?
Honestly I saw no vote fraud, I’m in a sane area near the beach in California. However in 2000 the networks called it for Al Gore early, and the typical after-work surge of voters on the west coast simply drove home instead of to the polls. There were no lines at 5:30 outside (the first time this had ever happened in a presidential election in my area). This had a big effect, and the election was so close that Gore had a chance to attempt stealing the White House.
I was impressed with the chain of custody measures of ballot cards and I’m suspect of computer voting for that reason. We also had NO hanging chads that year. The rolls were, unfortunately, loaded with deceased and long-since-moved people.... which is rich with potential for voting fraud. AND we were NOT ALLOWED to view IDs when presented. Which is insane.
