Like his neighbors, Claude Rwaganje pays taxes on his income and taxes on his cars. His children have gone to Portlands public schools. Hes interested in the workings of Maines largest city, which he has called home for 13 years.
Theres one vital difference, though: Rwaganje isnt a U.S. citizen and isnt allowed to vote on those taxes or on school issues. That may soon change.
Portland residents will vote Nov. 2 on a proposal to give legal residents who are not U.S. citizens the right to vote in local elections, joining places like San Francisco and Chicago that have already loosened the rules or are considering it.

Nothing I read even shocks me anymore. What rights do we, the citizens, have aside from paying taxes? This is an outrage that we have to even have illegals here let alone pay for their healthcare and now give them the right to have a say in how we govern ourselves. We are falling faster than Rome and is there no one who will step up to the plate and motivate us to end this insanity?

I feel better now. After trying to decipher your post, I’ve come to realize you’re on the backside of the coherent thought curve. That does explain a few things.
Since its pointless (and a bit cruel) to engage in an internet discussion with those that no longer retain their full mental faculties, i will abstain from further comment.
Thank you for affording me the last word and for ceasing your drivel.
Your cogent reply, “I know you are but what am I?” really impressed all who saw it with your rapier wit, I’m sure.
I’m truly sorry that you require a dictionary to “decipher” my posts. You should work on your English vocabulary.
Sorry sunshine, lived here my whole life. My vocabulary is just fine. It wasn’t the words that needed deciphering, it was the total lack of logic.
For instance, the whole “how DARE you!!” schtick?? And defining (based on internet postings no less) who is your “Lesser”. How deliciously absurd. You have no idea what my family has contributed to this country and our Military service (including the guy who served but isn’t a citizen), yet determined we are somehow inferior.
You sound like a Rockefeller Republican getting the vapors because some of those low class Tea Partiers have moved into the neighborhood. Your self-righteousness is actually kind of fun to watch!
(yes yes, i said i’d stop, but some things are just too easy)
Did you or did you not brag, "My father has lived here for 53 years and is not a citizen.?
Did you or did you not say, "As to 'partaking of the benefit of residing in, working in, blah blah blah'..."
when you were referring to traditional1's Post 20, which was "...partake of the BENEFIT of residing in, living in, working in, and using public facilities that were PAID FOR AND DIED-FOR by Citizens?"
And yet you do not understand why someone who has deceased citizen brothers and nephews who served would be outraged at your disgusting lack of concern about their sacrifice? Their BLAH BLAH BLAH?
Again, you don't understand that what I meant by "betters" were those men, not myself. They have earned your respect with their blood and their lives, and they will always be better than you.
You accuse me of hating your father. Please show where I said I hated your father or anyone else.
It doesn’t stop with voting.
The city is also going to allow thiefs to dictate what homeowners stock their refridgerators with in case they get hungry. Afterall as trepassers they should have a say.
Guess what Granny, it was paid for by a couple of NON-citizens too.

This is about voting. Citizens can. Non citizens can’t. As it should be. But if you are a LEGAL resident of this country, and you have served honorably in the armed services (as the old man did), and paid your taxes, and followed the rules, and not been a parasite (like a lot of citizens), then you deserve respect. Not a lecture like the one provided by traditional1.
Oh, I see. All your respect is for your own, en tu familia, but for no one else. All others’ sacrifices are just blah, blah, blah.
Now I get where you’re coming from. La Raza.
Your total lack of reading comprehension continues to baffle. Where did I say I don’t respect the fallen? I was responding to a blowhard (Traditional1) Read his original post (Post 20). I’m still trying to figure out what “You need to think about YOUR role, here, too.” means. Want to help me with that one?
So I find a fine Guatemalan gentleman as an example (and yes Granny, as much as you hate to admit it, he’s better than both you and I), and immediately i’m La Raza? Nein Granny... Ich bin Deutsch. Anything else you want to pull out of your rectal cavity to show your ignorance?
You say that I have poor reading comprehension, and then you say that you need my help interpreting traditional1’s post to you.
The jokes about you write themselves.
And I rest my case.
You can’t figure it out either huh? Didn’t think so.
