After 9/11, Fort Hood, Times Square, Detroit, Bali, Madrid, London and the Mumbai bombings/shootings, liberals are in shock that people still make a connection between Islam and terrorism. How many times do Muslims have to blow things up to prove they're peaceful???
Ever since Iranian "students" stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran 31 years ago, 'deceived' normal Americans have kept making such connections, while Democrats have kept furiously denying such connections and screaming that profiling Muslims -- as opposed to Tea Partiers, "right-wing" militias, veterans, Christians, etc. -- is evil. In fact, these darling liberals since 9/11 have privately asked, 'Where's Timothy McVeigh when you need him?'
Juan Williams got canned 3 seconds after Hamas's front group "CAIR" warned NPR to get rid of its only sane analyst. Among the ever-evolving and self-parodizing excuses for firing Williams after saying something rational, honchette Vivian Schiller claimed he was fired in the name of tolerance. And for his "thoughtless" comments about Muslims. She then "apologized" to the press for her thoughtless comments about Juan Williams needing a therapist.
When all that didn't work, the next compelling excuse was that Williams had been repeatedly warned about having an opinion, that it violated NPR's 'ethics code' and its 'editorial' 'standards', which apparently consist of wishing AIDS on Jesse Helms' grandchildren, hoping for the evaporation of 4 million Christians, since it "would leave the world a better place," etc. (George Soros liked these comments so much, he bought NPR.)
When that excuse didn't work, Williams had to be fired because he put the spotlight on himself. If that's the policy, now that NPR has put the spotlight on NPR, it should fire itself.
Say, why doesn't NPR take its fears of Juan Williams up with its in-house psychiatrist?
Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

Thank you, Ms. CEO Shiller!
Time to cut off all plubic funding of all media.
If they cannot survive on their own they deserve to die.
The LIBERAL Juan Williams is the person that’s going to be responsible for getting ALL of the Govt. funding STOPPED for NPR!!!!! SWEEEEEEETT!!!!
I cannot imagine any CEO surviving after being asked about the firing of a high profile staffer, and choosing to comment on it with vitriol in a public venue. The NPR CEO should have already been demoted or terminated by the Board for her incompentence. If she is a representative of NPR, they have no “standards.”
Fox News gave Williams a new contract worth nearly $2 million. They did not specify the terms, but $2 million! I wonder what NPR paid him.
I suspect their funding from music lovers will dry up because of the Juan Williams fiasco.
.
I wonder how many people here at FR understand your handle. We ain't getting any younger. :-}
So Public Broadcasting called Juan Williams, and explained that he will no longer be getting their money because they object to his views?
What if a few million of us called their toll-free numbers, the next time they have a “Pledge Drive”?
I am sure I can think of many examples, of how I disagree with them.
McVeigh was an islamist facilitator.
You’ve nailed it again, my man!!!
I honestly think that the disease of liberalism causes the brain to block that which is OBVIOUS.
WHO ARE WE GOING TO BELIEVE - NPR, OR OUR LYING EYES?
I listen to classical music on my local NPR affiliate and turn it off when the news comes on.
Aww, John, you’re short-changing yourself again. This well-reasoned comment’s worth at LEAST a nickle!!!
You are so amazing! You managed to wreck their entire argument without mentioning that he’s black!
It seems to me that, ordinarily, his skin color would be the first reason why folks should be admonished for his firing.
However, in Juan’s case, it will be the last issue to be addressed...because he didn’t speak the words they wanted to hear.
Shame on them.....but we know for a fact what the left is now.
They aren’t tolerant of anyone who doesn’t share their views no matter their skin color, ethnic background, etc.
If that’s how the other side views things, then I’m okay. lol
BTW, I don’t often agree with Juan, but he appears to be a decent and loving man. I’m so sorry to see what’s happened to his life, and am very proud of FNC for standing by him.
