FOX News: "I don't understand the inconsistency here," Dr. Charles Krauthammer said on PBS's "Inside Washington" Friday night. Another guest on the panel was NPR's Nina Totenberg, whom Krauthammer targeted for her consistent liberal bias.
"Why is it okay for Nina to express opinions as she has tartly, sharply, unashamedly and openly? And she's an honored correspondent there; in fact, they mention your status here on ["Inside Washington"] in your biography at NPR. And Juan, because he expresses his opinions, he gets canned from NPR," Dr. Krauthammer said.
Totenberg said she's been put in an "awkward position" with the uproar and offered her explanation of why Williams was singled out for dismissal. "In the modern journalistic world, where people are asked to give opinions all the time whether you're a regular on a show like this or not, if you cover a story you may be asked to appear on a television show and talk about it. I think it's a very very difficult line to draw. And NPR tries to draw it, in my view, using rules that don't exist anymore."
"I have personal opinions that I will not share with you," NPR's Nina Totenberg said, who has not been afraid to share her opinions before. Juan's firing was not "popular on the floor" at NPR.

That CAIR guy was on with Megan Kelly tonight looking very smug and I thought I heard him say “we” when speaking of NPR firing Juan. He sounded like he is in cahoots with NPR.
hmmm
I liked that he said I’m defending my friend. :)
Because she is a white female and not a black male....I love using the race card against NPR/PBS. The are leftest bigots and always have been....went after clarance thomas and fired Juan Williams....what else can you call them...How many white females with acid tongues have they fired....oh wait, I think the answer is none....
“I saw a clip of Meghan Kelly from FOX dealing with that CAIR jerk.”
I think I heard part of that. Is it where she asks the CAIR guy if he was happy that Juan Williams got fired, and was that CAIR’s goal? The guy could not answer the question truthfully, so Meghan asked it 2 - 3 more times. If you don’t understand what CAIR is all about, you should listen to this interview.
Sorry if I have this confused with a different interview.
No you’re correct. It was funny, I saw it online, and it was amazing how the libs complained that Kelly “didn’t answer his questions”—like answering the guest’s questions is the INTERVIEWER’S job. He came off as smugly as he always does, the little fidget.
” drum up the witch hunt against Clarence Thomas “
Ya got that right! My work schedule made it possible for me to watch every day of those hearings, and she was a complete a-hole!
The forth estate became the fifth column.
What I love about Krauthammer in this clip, is that he very clearly let Nina know that he COULD come out and throw the Jesse Helms comment at her ... but did not.
I felt she was hoping the segment would end without it coming up.
“I don’t have a lot of love for Krauthammer.....”
Excuse me???????
It did so long ago. It's only advertised its partisanship to a broader audience this time.
Public TV/Radio was part of FDR's effort to control information and keep detractors in the dark. NPR along with the "fairness doctrine" were two of the primary tools that the leftist propogandists could use to misinform the public. Reagan took down the fairness doctrine, and the internet is taking down the rest of the propoganda machine, slowly but surely.
WE are the media now.
Count on Krauthammer to cut through the fog.
Bump
It’s so rare to have a really smart person commenting on those shows that you can see how wide a berth they all give Charles. Nobody dares to challenge him because they know not only is he right, but he’s got corroborating examples at the tip of his tongue. Nina probably envisioned him raising career-ending examples of her commentary if she had in any way pushed back.
Charles asks repeatedly, “Where did he (Juan) go over the line?” The correct answer, Charles, is when he went on Fox News.

IMHO Marxists are elitist phonies.
Thanks for the ping. You’ll love this one (it’s only 2 minutes long) if you haven’t seen it:
