Famed filmmaker David Zucker penned an apology to Big Government readers for backing Barbara Boxer in past elections for the US Senate.
It turns out that the producer of films such as Airplane, Naked Gun, Top Secret!, and An American Carol once contributed to Boxer during her first campaign for Senate.
For penance, Zucker offers this soon-to-be classic short, Call Me Madam Joe, that merges Boxers most arrogant moment with a dose of Abbott and Costello featuring one of our favorite character actors

David Zucker is one of the team of Zucker, Abrams and Zucker who made many of the classic comedies, such as Airplane! and a whole bunch in the genre they created (not to mention Ghost and the underappreciated classic A Walk in the Clouds). A couple of years ago David started speaking out and making pro-conservative ads, videos and even films. For instance, he made a very funny video mocking John Kerry for being indecisive showing a groom who cant choose between the bride and the bridesmaid and so on. Then he made An American Carol. Ugh. That was an odd experience watching that piece of crud. There was almost complete silence for most of the movie, because bluntly it wasnt very funny. But at the end the audience clapped anyway. I guess they felt the filmmakers heart was in the right place, if the funny bone was not.
But this video mocking Barbara Boxer on the other hand, is very, very funny. He says it is penance for having once supported her.
Who is the actor playing General Henderson?
BTTT
I work so hard trying not spill coffee on my keyboard while watching that ad...
That was funny. And the guy playing the male Senator was Ron Howard’s little brother. He has been in a lot of movies, but never a starring role.
awesome!
Chief Red Cloud for Governor.
Arrogancy is thy name oh Barbara, as you have reigned, rather than served. You have did us such great service
by telling us “how great I am.”
LOL! Good stuff.
DUDE!!!!
You gotta see this one!
This one is worth a Silicon Valley Ping...
I hope this helps defeat Boxer. This is just to funny!
I saw that ad yesterday, and on top of really enjoying it, I also thought it was awfully well made, with a lot of very good actors.
This explains it. Not exactly an amateur job.
I remember hearing recently that Boxer was in a traffic accident somewhere near the tollbooth for the Richmond Bridge and pulled that Kerry-esque 'do you know who I am' crap.
Anybody else remember that/have more detail?
Ping.
Loved it!!!!!!!!!
The comments below say the following are in it: Ed Ames, Zo (cool), Nick Searcy, Jack Scalia, Sonja Schmidt.
This is hysterical...
That is pretty funny...
Classic!
