Nah, this is nothing more than the tried and true - from the Soviet Union, Cuba, North Korea no less - the medicalization of political dissent; that is, turning political dissent into a psychiatric illness, so that you can silence political dissidents by locking them up in psychiatric hospitals "for their own good."

Americans are scared - scared that they won’t be able to undo the terrible things that this bitter partisan neophyte has already done to the nation.

Interesting in light of yesterday's comments by the head of NPR that Juan Williams should have kept his comments between himself and his psychiatrist.

I'm glad I am not the only person that had a shiver up my spine when I read that.

Other FReeper posts on the politicization of the psychiatric services in the Communist countries are germane as well. It IS the way they think.

"Our way is so obviously right, correct, proper, true and just that anyone who disagrees with us MUST be crazy, and it is our humane duty to cure them of such mental illness."

Failing that, they'll reach for that box with the big red button on it.

Dr. Obama diagnoses a heretofore undiscovered psychological derangement: anxiety-induced Obama Underappreciation Syndrome, wherein an entire population is so addled by its economic anxieties as to be neurologically incapable of appreciating the "facts and science" undergirding Obamacare and the other blessings their president has bestowed upon them from on high.

'Tis a thing of beauty this acid-tipped barb launched from the pen of Sir Charles.

Vivian Schiller certainly woke up to a nightmare on Thursday. Sacking Juan Williams and calling him crazy in public are examples of a CEO who is totally out of her depth.

After a respectful pause, I expect Ms. Schiller will depart NPR to "explore other career opportunities" or "spend more time with her family."

Kraut can irritate the heck out of me at times.

But this, this is perfection in very few words.

Leftists have always populated insane asylums with people at odds with their ideology, hence, Juan William’s implied need for psychiatry.

It sure is. It makes me very happy to think of how many people are going to read it in the WaPo.

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

* Believing that you’re better than others
* Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
* Exaggerating your achievements or talents
* Expecting constant praise and admiration
* Believing that you’re special and acting accordingly
* Failing to recognize other people’s emotions and feelings
* Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
* Taking advantage of others
* Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
* Being jealous of others
* Believing that others are jealous of you
* Trouble keeping healthy relationships
* Setting unrealistic goals
* Being easily hurt and rejected
* Having a fragile self-esteem
* Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional

Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it’s not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don’t value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having “the best” of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.

As posted yesterday, “Obama says he should have sold his policies better,” says he should have put more lipstick on his pig.

LOL, well put.

Just wondering, do they (the newly dumped) ever “explore other families” or “spend more time with [their] career opportunities”?
