In Maryland's Fifth Congressional District, long-time incumbent congressman and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer attended a forum with Republican challenger Charles Lollar on Monday, October 18th. You can see from the first video that Hoyer wasn't pleased with Lollar's response to the current question (starts at 2:47 in the video). In fact, Hoyer has some words with Lollar that are inaudible because Hoyer's microphone is off.
Later that day I received word from someone in attendance that after the forum concluded Hoyer punched Lollar in the back. The person said that Lollar turned to Hoyer and brushed it off. Once again Hoyer punched Lollar in the back and Lollar turned and the two exchanged words. Lollar held a press conference on Tuesday October 19th where a reporter who witnessed Hoyer punching Lollar questions Lollar about the incident. Lollar indeed confirmed Hoyer punched him, not once, but twice. And in the exchange Hoyer said to Lollar, "I'm coming after you."

As for the “attack as a hate crime”, it’s only a hate crime if a conservative does it. A lib white guy can even hit a black man. If the black man is conservative. If a white liberal hit a black liberal all would be forgiven within a day or two.

Honestly I just watched the video and it did not look like Hoyer punched him. To me it looked like maybe just a touch which looks like he was just kind of moving him forward so they could exit at least this is what it looks like to me

I believe the incident being discussed isn’t when they were exiting the stage, it was after.

Oh I see that was not on the video shot I saw.
It’s not a hate crime if it’s a Dem hitting a Repub. (i.e. the white union guys beating a black man holding a pro republican sign was also not a hate crime)
I guess the Dem guy knew if he could get Lollar to react, then the MSN would ‘take it from there’ and feature only the reaction with subtitles like ‘Republican Rage’ etc.

That was putting it mildly! Lollar doesn't look or act like a drama queen who makes things up. He does not have to.
I believe it’s a real possibility that that’s what Hoyer was trying to do. Loller had really ticked Hoyer off with his jabbing him about Congress holding the purse strings and the liberal press is in Hoyer’s pocket.
It is the lake of integrity, not muscle, which will do Mr. Hoyer in some day. If not this election, then eventually he will be voted out or decide to not run again.

I haven’t either and don’t believe he’s got much of a chance against Hoyer but the year might be right. Like you say though, he’s got a big future.
