PLANO, Texas (AP) ― Penthouse magazine founder Bob Guccione has died in a suburban Dallas hospital at age 79. A statement issued by the Guccione family says he died Wednesday at Plano Specialty Hospital in Plano after a long battle with cancer. The Brooklyn, N.Y.-born Guccione introduced Penthouse to the American public in 1969, at the height of the feminist movement and the sexual revolution.

I was a charter subscriber to OMNI magazine. I recall one of the young authors they featured was a guy named Orson Scott Card... Great magazine.
BG’s 2nd half of his life was a complete undoing of what his first half built. He owned by far the finest residence on the island of Manhattan, bar none...and lost it in bankruptcy, along with all his assets. He died broke, estranged from his son, and alone.

I remember occasionally reading the articles in Penthouse and Playboy when I was a teenager. They were chock full of interesting facts and were quite useful in writing essays and reports for my high school classes.
The jokes and cartoons were funny too. A little off color perhaps, but funny.
That rug is one of the worst wigs I’ve ever seen.
