Have we become a nation of utter WIMPS? Or do we only LOOK spineless when the TV cameras are watching? Good Lord!!

Simplify this equation. Boil it down to its component elements.

Say you lost a loved one and some idiot came to the funeral to scream insults at you and besmirch the good name of your lost soldier. Would you just stand there and accept that humiliation?

Or would you tell your buddy “big Scotty” to go take care of that little problem over there? No deadly force, of course, but all the non-deadly force that Scotty cared to muster.

Now kick it up a notch and bring 20 screaming protesters from some bastard church that only wants the spotlight. So now you roll over then and let them insult you?

Not me! Forgive me for being so politically incorrect, but I’d gather a few of my biggest friends and go crack as many skulls and break as many ribs (but no deadly force!) as God would allow! HONOR says you have to defend the dead and your own good name!

Damn the police, damn the TV cameras and damn the courts! Go to trial on assault charges, but go with the sure and certain knowledge that you did what God intended and trust that a jury of your “peers” will see that!

But so help me God, that pack of protesters would be feeling bruises and broken bones for the next three weeks. Honor would be served and those idiots would NOT be coming back.

Do it. Fight back!

Feel better?

My brother is buried in Arlington. KIA, 1967, Vietnam, after being ‘in Country’ for about a month. His son was born 2 weeks before he was killed. My brother knew his son was born but never saw a picture. So trust me, I know how you feel.

But these WBC asshat are not worth getting arrested over. Our message of honoring our fallen heroes and supporting those still fighting is what we do. The smiles and hand shakes with a BIG ‘Thank You’ from passerbys for our being there satisfies me.

Wimps, spineless - I take offense to those words when I and others honor our fallen heroes.

And Patriot Guard Riders do an excellent job protecting grieving families from WBC.

DNME, the Trooprally’s and their team of DC Chapter Freepers have been fighting back more than 99.9% of us who are mostly keyboard warriors.

Their group has spent close to 300 straight Friday nights in front of Walter Reed counter-protesting the hateful leftists who, years ago, began protesting the war and the military from Georgia Avenue out front. Our conservative bretheren go out there EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY NIGHT for up to four and a half hours, no matter the conditions.

While most of us are watching television, surfing the Internet, eating at restaurants, going to parties or visiting friends on Friday nights, those folks stand in front of Walter Reed for the purpose of letting our wounded warriors know that the hateful Code Pink types don’t speak for all America.

Their reward is the cars that drive by, driven by everyday AMERICANS who take a moment to honk, wave and even stop to talk. Their reward is a visit from wounded soldiers who make a trek out in front of the hospital just to say how grateful they are that SOMEONE is on their side, and that SOMEONE is saying thank you by interposing themselves between the leftists and the wounded.

They are out there in broiling heat, freezing sleet or snow, rain, you name it. And then, you know what? They get up the next morning and counter-protest the Leftists in Olney.

I suspect you didn’t intend for your post to carry the message that it did...the Trooprally’s and their like don’t stick up for themselves, they are too humble to do so. But I think you have them all wrong, my FRiend. If other Americans like you and I could do 20% of what those folks do on a weekly basis, we wouldn’t be in the situation we are today.

I hope your comments about spineless behavior were not directed at the Trooprally’s and their friends because they are part of the few who are actually showing their spine and doing the heavy lifting.

I am not sure what your goal was in advocating violence on this site and at this event. I wonder why you would feel that the hours we have all given to this cause makes us WIMPS?

Would a one time physical confrontation, and all the following legal battles, be a better use of our fortunes and time? The courts would side with their right to assemble, you know!

You are welcome to join this group of dedicated heroes only if you can accept and respect our rules and goals. I hope other FRiends of Free Republic will join the group.

My husband lies within those gates. Your suggestion would not honor him.
