Do I wish that Colorado senatorial candidate Ken Buck hadn't declared that being gay is a choice (as if there were something wrong with choosing to be gay)? Yes. Do I wish he hadn't followed up by comparing a gay genetic predisposition to alcoholism? I do.

There's a way to answer this question, and there's a way not to. I probably agree with Buck, but I didn't hear or read the original text. The point is that the left is digging these various punji pits in the culture war, waiting for us to fall into which need to be avoided, when the economic and political fate of the country is at stake!

P.S. homosexuality is associated with fairly high mortality, and the tax payer is mostly picking up the tab for these antiretroviral drug cocktails that treat AIDS, over $10,000 per year per patient when I last checked.

Do I wish that science-challenged believers would resist the urge to raise their hands when asked whether they believe the world is 5,000 years old?.

Come on, this is another hit piece on the Tea Party.

Yes, stay away from this crap. Focus like a laser on jobs, economy, budget deficit, national debt etc...

I guess at some point people have to decide if they are responsible for their behavior or not.

If you are not, then there is no point in this whole “self-government” thing.

I don’t accept the premise that is assumed that those who believe in young earth creationism are “science challenged”.

Characterizing your political opponents as knuckle dragging, uneducated racists is as old a tactic as democracy itself, and fabricating facts to support the claim is likewise as old. The Tea Party shakes the socialist left to its boots, and short of a shooting war, they’ll do everything in their power to discredit it.

I hope you're joking, or you better read it again. It's satire.

They won’t stop short of shooting, either,
and will use the government to shoot their
political opposition if given the opportunity.

Neanderthals believed that being gay is a choice? Maybe that’s why there are no Neanderthals any longer.

I am a Bitter Clinger. Not sure if I get this guy’s points or not but...anybody who’s ever played with a ouiji board or read a horoscope can’t say anything about O’Donnell. I believe that homosexual behavior is a deliberate choice and I hold in contempt people who are afraid to say so. I am opposed to homosexuals in the military.

What the rinos and the dems don’t get is the fact that it is the tea party candidates “rough around the edges” performances that make us like them. We are SICK TO DEATH of professional arrogant SOB politicians.

Take the morality component out of the Tea Party and it will die.

It's not something to mention when you want to nationalize the election. It's a belief of a minority of the country.

The author is on our side.

well writ. Elected politicians have become a ruling class, and they must be punished by We the People. America was designed to REJECT aristocracy and a ruling class because the Founders witnessed what it had done to Europe.

Drain the Swamp and bring about term limits until we can re-train our citizens on these facts. The Constitution was an AGREED UPON contract that was to keep government in check. It is easy to comprehend, should be re-introduced into schools and no citizen should be allowed out of high school until they understand its principles. It is written so simply that a grade schooler should understand it (like all great documents).

Well on this issue I look at it from this perspective. Could I choose to engage in this activity? The answer is absolutely not. I find the mere thought of engaging in male homosexual activity completely discussing, gut turning, barf bag filling gross.

I could not choose this behavior because at the most fundamental level it makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever and is aberrant and abnormal. I am ok with the behavior so long as I don’t think about or have it shoved in my face.

So when someone asks you if it is a lifestyle choice ask yourself if you could choose it. Strangely lesbians don’t bother me probably because I am hardwired to understand their attraction to women.

It's called 'cognitive dissonance'. Look it up.

Your free to believe what you want. I believe some queers are born that way, and others, whatever their reasoning, choose to be that way. Maybe their craving for sex makes them do it. That's just speculation.

I am opposed to homosexuals in the military.

I agree. I'm really afraid of what it might do to recruiting.

Keep in mind that a lot of the Tea partiers are middle of the roaders who often vote Democrat, but don’t want to be governed by the far-left. I’m not saying don’t talk about morality, but the main focus should be to stop our descent into poverty and authoritarian government.

Take the morality component out of the Tea Party and it will die.

That's your assumption. I agree with social conservatives on most issues, but it's not the time to divide us. That's what the left is hoping for. Wake up!
