Analyst Places $2.7 Billion Value on Michelle Obama’s Public Wardrobe Choices
New York Magazine ^ | 10/20/10 | Amy Odell

In their latest Business Review, Harvard, that fashion-obsessed place a quick private plane ride north of us, had an analyst assess the monetary value Michelle Obama has on fashion labels she wears publicly. Apparently when Michelle wears something, that company's stock spikes upward. If it's not the label seeing a gain, stores that carry the labels, like Saks, stand to benefit. From November 2008 to December 2009, David Yermack counted that Michelle made 189 public appearances, and wore items by or sold at 29 publicly traded companies, including J.Crew, the Gap, Dillard's, and DSW.

Yeah, she is able to wear the same thing forwards and backwards...

that is really weird... i did that back in the 80's with cardigan sweaters, but i was 17-years old... she just wore that laced-up thing on the "get out the vote" psa she and Obama did...

Her choices always look like dyed potato sacks and opened umbrellas.

This was the mantra when I was a kid.

Yep. I told you so. Also, I think she tends to be color blind or maybe I am not in vogue and wear orange and turquoise together. Some of her color selections - frightening!

Don’t tell Michelle this, else she’ll start shaking down the fashion industry for her cut of the action (and funnel the funds into re-electing Obama Democrats).

It took me a long time to believe that getup wasn’t some sort of Photoshop joke. The whole thing looks like a scene out of some weird, seventies British sitcom.

It’s all just too surreal, like she took Grace Slick’s pill that makes you larger but her clothes stayed small. And, that flower or whatever on her lapel looks like it’d squirt water.

Thanks for the ping. Michell’s taste in clothes is beyond horrible. She is disgusting inside and out, can’t she at least dress fitting her role she is in unfortunately.
