WASHINGTON (AP) - Anita Hill is refusing to apologize for accusing then-Supreme Court justice nominee Clarence Thomas of sexually harassing her, in an issue that Thomas' wife has reopened 19 years after his confirmation hearings.
"I have no intention of apologizing because I testified truthfully about my experience and I stand by that testimony," Hill, now a Brandeis University professor, said in a statement released Tuesday night.
Thomas' wife, Virginia, had left a voicemail message on Hill's phone over the weekend asking her to say she was sorry for the allegations that surfaced at Thomas' confirmation hearings for a seat on the high court bench in 1991.

Hill had worked for Thomas at the Education Department and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She first made her allegations after Thomas had been nominated to the high court, 10 years after she began working for him and only after she was contacted by congressional investigators.
So she worked for him for 10 years despite "harassment"? And who were the "congressional investigators"? Not likely that they were bipartisan.
Ask Joe Biden.

Of course she's never going to renounce her lies. Life is good in her estimation.
My only question is why on earth did Thomas’ wife bring this up now? She should have known that it wouldn’t work and would only create more fodder for the Lib media to use against Thomas.

She probably brought it up because so much time has passed and she’d like to clear her husband. What she doesn’t realize is that Anita Hill is “successful” only because of the lie. Justice Thomas stated that Hill was a mediocre employee.
we’ll never know for sure but circumstantial evidence like that argues strongly for Thomas
what i dont understand is why Ginny Thomas would leave a message. Stuff like this you dont leave recordings or emails or am I wrong? Now there is a recording the MSM-Pravda can distort and Ginny can be made to look like she was grandstanding
This incident seems strange. On a Saturday morning at 7:30 am, Thomas’s wife calls Hill for an apology? Shows questionable judgement on the part of Mrs.Thomas. Her husband is a Supreme Court Justice. She should let sleeping dogs lie.
The same media that continually tarnish Judge Thomas over a suppose sexual harassment incident are awfully silent over the MULTIPLE charges of sexual embarrassments over a certain Bill Clinton.

Even IF he had done the things she claimed (and I watched the hearings) she is a low life for showing up ata hearing ten years later to try and destroy his Supreme Court nomination.
Basically, she claimed he asked her out and talked about sex.
This situation spurred, perhaps, the funniest SNL skit of all time.

Being wrongly accused rankles. When one is innocent, you want to clear your name no matter how much time has passed. If you're guilty you let sleeping dogs lie. I'm supposing that she had thought Hill had matured and would come clean but leftys never do.

She ran to the police like the psycho she is. I guess her great legal wisdom led her to believe a phone call from a wife asking for an apology is somehow a crime.
Agreed. Mrs. Thomas seems like an intelligent person—did she think Hill would just say “You’re right, I didn’t think of that! I’ll apologize!” Anyone could have told her that if Hill would ever apologize, she’d be the one to make the first move. Now, she’s just stirred up an old story.
After years of hearing/seeing very little about her in the 'news', there have been at least two or three stories about Virginia Thomas in the last week or so -- each one portraying her negatively.
Is it possible that denigrating and discrediting his wife is just the first step in a 'plan' to target Mr. Thomas for removal from the supreme court; by harassing him in to retirement, maybe?
