FNC launched Fox News Latino, a new website, whilst honoring the 2010 Ailes Apprentice Program graduates Tuesday night at the Water Club in Manhattan. Fox News CEO/chair and founder of the program, Roger Ailes hosted the dinner...
-snip-
The night was also the kick-off of Fox News Latino, an English-language website for the rapidly growing Hispanic population in the U.S. Will the website one day turn into a TV channel, like CNN en Espanol? Thats nowhere in sight, manager Francisco Cortes told The Miami Herald. Though, trust me, its in the back of my mind. Cortes himself is a graduate of the Ailes Apprentice Program.

In my opinion, it's just more pandering to a group steadfastly refusing to assimilate and embrace American culture and language. Univision, Telemundo, Estrella, Galavision, Azteca and Telefutura already pollute the television landscape and their "news" programs parrot the LaRaza party line.
Et tu, Rupert?

...Fox News Latino, an English-language website... A smattering of English is on the site but below the fold, it's all in Spanish. I repeat -- it's pandering.
We speak English and that's for all of America.

I should have waited for your post. Next it will be Fox News Ghetto. I guess they could get Snerdley as commentator.

I think this is great.
I have a friend I met in the eighties who was born in Mexico and became an American citizen legally. We were watching TV at his place, and Ronald Reagan began a press conference. My friend watched Reagan so intently that when his wife came in to ask him if he wanted a beer, he shushed her and waved his hands to let her know he did not want to be disturbed while he was listening to the President. I asked her later about that and she said that he did that all the time, whenever Ronald Reagan was on TV.
When people realize that they have a personal stake in their own liberty, they always vote accordingly.
I wish FOX the best and hope that they are very successful.

When your friend of Mexican origin watched President Reagan was it televised in English or on of the Spanish-language outlets?

Ping.
This topic is of possible interest in the wake of the "Futbol Americano" thread a few weeks ago.

Yep, so far my
knee-jerk reaction is that this could be a good thing... the site
is mostly in the English language from what I've seen so far.

TV comes with multi language closed captioning now adays.
To: nutmeg
If there had been a Spanish language Fox News Channel in existence the last 10 or 15 years, Obama would not be president today.
To: Global2010
TV comes with multi language closed captioning nowadays. It most certainly does and is strictly a one way street. The English-language facilities make the effort to provide SAP and CC content in Spanish.
In contrast, it doesn't happen in the other direction. Even movies that were produced in English on Telefutura (to cite one example) are dubbed into Spanish with CC in Spanish. But an English language service (SAP or CC)?
Nada!

Hmmm... maybe a Latino Rush Limbaugh as well? ;-)
