Chris Coons Sued 3 Times in 2007 For Retaliating Against Public Employees For Their Political Views

Hmm. Well this is odd. It’s like the state-run media is intentionally hiding this report to protect democrat Chris Coons.

Certainly they wouldn’t stoop that low, would they?

Chris Coons was sued three times in 2007 for retaliating against public employees for their political views.

While the state-run media was out smearing conservative Christine O’Donnell in Delaware they forgot to get around to this.

Well, besides being an airhead, Coons has the wacky fever from liberal illness, and their are people from Delaware who are silly enough to vote for him. Their children deserve better.

Third Lawsuit Alleges Retaliation by Coons

08/09/2007 3:13 PM ET

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- A third lawsuit alleges that New Castle County Executive Chris Coons retaliated against county employees because of their political views.

Dennis Parkstone filed the latest lawsuit last month. He claims he was fired after 35 years for a minor violation because he voiced support for Coon's rival in 2004, Sherry Freebery. However, county spokeswoman Christy Gleason says Parkstone was fired because he sent inappropriate and explicit e-mails on the county's e-mail servers.

A lawsuit filed by county police Corporal Trinidad Navarro is scheduled to go to trial next month. Navarro alleges he was passed over for a promotion because he supported a police chief appointed by the previous county executive.

And two years ago, Freebery's brother alleged in lawsuit that he was improperly fired because he supported his sister. He was the general manager of Special Services for the county.

MODERATOR: please make sure it has no copyright issue on that. If it does please remove. Thank you :-)

The important thing is what happened to these lawsuits? Did he lose?

Why does that matter, Hildy? Who cares if these suits had merit--it's important we support the unions! And what, do you think this is some place where they worry about facts, like that FreeRepublic site? Come on, this is DU, where we ... oh, wait...

Parkstone [PDF]
Look at that. The court ruled it's okay to fire someone who gets warned about pron and repeatedly sends inappropriate e-mail to female co-workers, signs an MOU to keep his job and then violates it by filing a union grievance, etc., even if he is the union president and supports your opponent in the Democrat primary.

Well, even when it's not really you who is the target of the complaint, but you're being listed as the defendant because the New Castle County can't be sued.

Here, you can see Trinidad Navarro's webite as he is the Democrat candidate for Sheriff. HereL's what the Dover Post had to say about the lawsuit and his recent primary fight with Mike Walsh, the Sheriff for 30 years:

Navarro, who is 40, is something of a familiar presence as the voice of the county police. He is responsible himself for cementing his association with Gordon in the public mind. Navarro went to court when he was not promoted under Chris Coons, the Democratic county executive who got himself elected as an antidote to the Gordon-Freebery connection.

It was some lawsuit. The most incendiary element was a conversation Navarro said he had with Coons’ communications director, who told him he was on the “losing team” and “Chris butters the bread.” The county settled before trial, although Navarro never made sergeant.

“I’m still surprised that someone who has been a non-promotable corporal for the 20 years he has been there thinks he should be the sheriff,” Walsh razzed.

Navarro said he decided to run for sheriff after Walsh let it be known he was ready to retire. Walsh said he did nothing of the sort.

As for Joesph Freebery, here or here are some fun reading. Bottom line, Coons didn't lose this one either. The court ruled that it's okay to get rid of someone whose evaluations weren't good.

And the cover-up is amazing. Would you believe I actually had to go to a search engine and enter the names before I could get this information?! </sarc>

IANAL...my summaries are for entertainment purposes only. See your own legal counsel for interpretation or whatever. :-)

Sure, there might have been problems or the court might have goofed, but it looks pretty silly to point out that Chris Coons was not the loser in any of these cases. That doesn't exactly help COD's campaign, does it, except to make conservatives look like they "just don't understand those big words like 'alleged'"?

Bad suit, bad outcome. This is no good to O’Donnell. Wish it was.

Hi, guys!

During a radio debate yesterday, Coons claimed separation of church and state was in the First Amendment and then was unable to name any First Amendment freedoms other than that churchy one.

Freedom of Speech? What’s that?

The Media Establishment, of course, is calling O’Donnell the dummy in this exchange.

I think FReeper Newton was being sarcastic.
