Missouri (Judges) Voter's Guides for Nov 2 Election
(No source) ^ | Today | Myself

I would be eternally grateful if any fellow FReepers could assist me in finding a comprehensive (Missouri) Voter's Guide (including for the judges and circuit judges) as I'm in the process of filling-out my absentee ballot for the November midterm election (I live in Toronto, Ontario). Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

FReegards.

I did some searching online and could not find any reason to deny any of the judges on my ballot in St. Charles County.

It was interesting that the partisian selection of I believe 24 offices that there were only five that had a democrat running. I don't have the names handy because I just sealed my mail in ballot, but I voted to confirm all the judges in this county.

Hey, CStLG: I spent the morning checking out all of this info. But I live in KC, so my checking would not be of great help to you. I opened a copy of the ballot, searched the judges by name. Then I checked out who appointed them. If I had any other questions, I tried to find out something about their cases or where they went to school. Amazingly, I made decisions about all of them, but I must admit it was quite easy for me to vote NO on anyone chosen by Carnahan or Holden. Hope this helps.

RE: Western MO Judges....
Information is hard to come by other than background and who appointed them and when. With the MO system, judges put up for appointment are essentially chosen by the MO Bar, and Republican governors have to hope for the least problematic of the 3 choices they are given (Matt Blunt found this out).

For what it is worth, you can find some information on Western judges that was put together at Missourians for Conservative Values PAC

Are you against it because of thinking it’ll extend to other situations than puppy mills, or b/c there are already rules on the books or...?

“Are you against it because of thinking it’ll extend to other situations than puppy mills, or b/c there are already rules on the books or...?”

Or how about because it increases regulatory standards without providing a single dime for enforcement/inspections? The Department of Agriculture already is incapable of providing annual inspections for all the licensees in MIssouri. What are they supposed to do after November, with more work and less money (all their budget comes from fees from license holders and there certainly will be fewer breeders and dogs after this passes)?

Thanks for the heads-up information.

I did a bit more researching and came up with these links (although they contain information necessary for me to fill-out my absentee ballot they're by no means "comprehensive":

That’s not a bad idea. I may have to do just that if all else fails. Thanks and FReegards.

From what I've found so far the Eagle Forum looks good for props and amendments. They recommend contacting the Constitutional Coalition and asking for a copy of their "Front Line", which should have an upcoming exhaustive review of judges. There's a link at the site for Front Line so I'm hoping something will pop up very soon. Hope that helps.

I tend to agree with you, MrB. Ended up also voting against almost all of the judges (that I couldn’t find any information on). ;-)
