IT'S ON! Attorney For Mosque Opponents Slams Feds Statement
WSMV TV News ^ | 5:26 pm CDT October 19, 2010 | Carley Gordon

A day after the U.S. Attorney's office released a briefing that defending Islam as a religion, the attorney for the opponents of the Rutherford County Islamic Center fired back.

Attorney Joe Brandon announced Tuesday in front of the county courthouse that he and his three plaintiffs won't accept the federal briefing and standby their position that Islam is not a religion.

"The real question I think becomes who is the federal government representing in this particular situation? They claim that the United States takes this position. I can assure you that the three plaintiffs in this case, who are U.S. citizens, do not accept the position that the federal government is attempting to shove down their throat," said Brandon.

U.S. Attorney Jerry E. Martin of Nashville said Monday his office would not sit by while mosque opponents raise questions in court about whether Islam is a recognized religion. Martin said in a statement that to suggest otherwise "is quite simply ridiculous."

It's ON!

Okay, I bookmarked it and now can’t find it — a post analyzing the Koran and pointing out that a very small percentage of its teachings (I think it was broken down by # of verses) are directed at teaching Muslims and all the rest are about what Muslims should do to infidels.

Did someone else see this post?

If the Soviets had been clever enough to claim that Marxism was a religion, we would all be speaking Russian by now.

Isn’t there a 1st amendment problem with the federal government intervening to support any particular religion?

About damn time someone stood up and stated the obvious: Islam is NOT a religion. It is a whacked out economic and political system having as its goal absolute domination of the entire world BY WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY — INCLUDING THE MURDER OF THOSE WHO RESIST!

The First Amendment is pretty clear about this: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”.

While this clearly restricts congress, it seems that lacking authority from a congressional law that would be unconstitutional, the executive has no right or authority to establish that something is a religion. It’s not the job of government to decide what is or is not a religion.

No, just a problem with them supporting Christianity. All other faiths are ok in their book.

Brandon also talked about the (Islam) Muslim flag flying over the White House. Don’t remember the Catholic Church, Amish or Protestant churches having their own flags. Interesting.

Don't know which one you're talking about, but how about these?

The punishment for Apostasy from Islam

Snip: Another volume of Tabari’s History, volume 17, pages 187-88 details the murder of other apostates.

Among them were many Christians who had accepted Islam, but when dissension had developed in Islam had said, "By God, our religion (din) from which we have departed is better and more correct than that which these people follow. Their religion does not stop them from shedding blood, terrifying the roads, and seizing properties." And they returned to their former religion. Al-Khirrit met them and said to them, "Woe unto you! Do you know the precept (hukm) of ‘Ali regarding any Christian who accepts Islam and then reverts to Christianity? By God he will not hear anything they say, he will not consider any excuse, he will not accept any repentance, and he will not summon them to it. His precept regarding them is immediate cutting off of the head when he gets hold of them. <.b>Those of the Banu Najiyah and other who were in that district came to him, and many men joined him.

Islam's sword vs. "infidels" worldwide

Snip: Islam divides the world into the Dar-al-Islam (House of Islam), where the faithful rule, and the Dar-al-Harb (House of War), ruled by infidels. The Moslem belief is that the latter should become the former. These "houses" are in a permanent state of war interrupted only by temporary tactical truces (Hudna). There is no question as to whether actual war should be waged. The only question is when and the answer to that is a purely tactical one. This conflict will not cease until the whole world is brought into the Dar-al-Islam with institutionalized discrimination (dhimmitude) that targets Jews and Christians. Others, such as Hindus and Buddhists, have a choice to convert or to be slaughtered. These regulations prohibit the non-Muslim from possessing arms, ringing church bells, testifying in courts, building and restoring houses of worship and require them to wear special identifying clothes. In obedience to core teachings of the Islamic faith, Muslims armies overran the predominantly Christian Middle East, then drove deep into Europe long before any Crusade was even contemplated.

The U.S. Attorney’s office knows zip about the muslim political movement because he and hisw cronies have their heads in the sand. They ought to make a trip to France and Germany and see just how “religious” they are. But that won’t happen. They are too elitist for that.
