BALTIMORE -- The latest Gonzales Research & Marketing Strategies poll shows that Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley is currently ahead of former Republican Gov. Bob Ehrlich, but his lead has steadily dwindled.
According to the poll that surveyed likely voters earlier this month, 47 percent said they would vote for O'Malley and 42 percent said they would support Ehrlich, while 6 percent were undecided.
The poll also gave the governor a 48 percent approval rating.
The last three polls found O'Malley's lead dwindling from 11 percent to 8 percent. Currently, the most recent Gonzales poll gives O'Malley a five-point advantage.
The same poll predicts that Democratic turnout will decline by 7 percent and Republican turnout will increase by 11 percent. It says that unaffiliated voters going to the polls will drop by 2 percent.
Ehrlich has an 8 percent advantage in Baltimore County, but the poll indicated that's not enough to offset O'Malley's popularity in the Washington, D.C., area.

The Good: Incumbent under 50% and falling.
The Bad: Ehrlich still trails.
The Ugly: The RGA has just halved its end-game advertising for Ehrlich.
Ehrlich walloped O’Malley in the last debate. It seems O’Malley’s big September boost is fading, but will it fade fast enough?
The union shell group “Citizens for Strength and Security” is now running ads against Ehrlich.
O’Malley just needs ObaMao to make another couple of campaign appearances for him . . .

Wasn’t Ehrlich ahead at one time?
Muck Faryland if they keep voting for the Dems.
Yes, during the summer.
Every vote is going to be important in November.
Ehrlich walloped OMalley in the last debate.
&&&
He did, indeed, but I wonder just how many potential swing voters watched.
Thanks for the ping.
Rest assured unless the sun rises in the west Maryland will remain the Freak state. Think mikulski, van hollen, hoyer and so forth. Also it is a “sanctuary” state with “motor-voter”. Not to be negative, but all is most likely lost.

I just got home from Dinner and Fashions with Kendel and Bob Ehrlich. The fashions and food and company were fantastic. Bob is very upbeat, and has invited everyone to a big party at Timonium Fair Grounds Tuesday night - Nov 2.
Sadly, I share your pessimism.
O’Malley’s another idiot.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
I’m not contributing over a non-secure server.
Hopefully, he’ll hit me up again through snail mail, and I can then donate that way.
It is secure. I’ve donated there several times but, ok there are other ways.
-Maryland- doesn’t keep voting for Dems.
The [sub]urban liberal scum who either work in DC/Balto or suck the gubmint teat outnumber the real Marylanders.
