Iran confirmed on Tuesday that some companies were refusing to refuel its planes at European airports and said it would retaliate if the situation continued.
Iran has played down the impact of international sanctions, which were tightened in June, and previously said news reports that Iranian airlines were having problems refuelling abroad were part of a "psychological war."

A series of “accidents” at their main gasoline import terminal would really put some pressure on the Mullahs.
And the insane asylum called Iran takes control of OPEC on Jan 1st.
Such interesting times.
On the subject of OPEC, it will have its first women minister:
“Nigerias Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke has scheduled an Oct. 14 gathering with the media at the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries meeting in Vienna. She is the first woman OPEC minister although women, including Kuwaits Siham Razzouqi, previously have led national delegations at OPEC meetings.”
Participants said the election had been a unanimous one by the group, whose members range from U.S. allies such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to historically hostile countries including Venezuela, Libya and Iran itself.
Is this correct? Does anyone have confirmation?
I should have also pinged* you to post #7. My apology.
Check this out:
OPEC countries are exceeding their quotas as prices creep above the $70-$80 a barrel band that Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi called “ideal.”
“We would love to see $100 a barrel,” Shokri Ghanem, chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corp. said. “We’re losing real income. Libya in particular would like to see a higher oil price.”
Other countries are less certain: Kuwait’s oil minister said he’d prefer a price no greater than $85 a barrel; while the Algerian minister said a price between $90 and $100 a barrel was “reasonable.”

There are eleven member countries of OPEC, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. They are: Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela.

This is exactly why I thought the “assasination attempt” on whatsis name was possibly driven by the Saudi’s
I thought it was a rotating chair?
I’m not a fan of women in public office JUST because she is a women.

Why not just tell the Iranians the plane has been re-fueled and let them get on their way :’)
My quick review of their statues indicates that the leadership is by vote of the members, not on a rotating basis: http://www.opec.org/opec_web/static_files_project/media/downloads/publications/OS.pdf
