Interesting addition to our bulletin this week .....

“In accord with IRS rules and the United States Conference of Bishops, Bishop ********* has indicated very clearly that we as a parish are not to be involved in political advocacy activities. For information about this rule see the legal opinion. Information on the upcoming election can be found at the U.S. Bishops website. Among other things this means that no voters’ guides may be distributed from or in our parish facility or using parish resources, including email lists.”

Hmmmmmm.....

Someone needs to remind the Bishop that as long as neither individual candidates, nor political parties, are named, or endorsed, ‘voters guides’ are absolutely OK to hand out in any Church, as far as IRS regulations are concerned.
