Popular Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal repeated his claim that he wont seek the Republican Partys nomination to run against President Barack Obama in 2012, Fosters Daily Democrat reported. During a campaign stump for GOP gubernatorial candidate John Stephen, R-N.H., in the nations first primary state, Jindal said he would not run for the nations highest office and, instead, stressed the importance of the upcoming midterm elections.
"I'm not running in 2012, Jindal said during a visit to Salient Surgical Technologies. We have a lot more work to do [in Louisiana]."

He’s right, he’s never going to run for president. He ought to endorse Sarah Palin for 2012 and get on board the inevitable victory train.
If he does run I imagine he’ll have his own crop of Birthers to contend with.
His parents are naturalized as opposed to natural born. There is a difference.
Not really!
Not only can Jindal provide the long form of his birth certificate, he can actually produce neighbors, friends, doctors and nurses who will attest to his birth in Louisiana. Not only that, his parents can produce documentation that they were in this country legally when Jindal was born, thus showing that he is a TRUE natural born citizen
All of the above Senor El Presidente Siempre Obama CANNOT do....
...after President Palin's second term. :o)
I don't think so. He's “what you see is what you get.” He will have his birth certificate and any other papers needed, in hand. He is a fine Christian man and we want to keep him in Louisiana - Lord knows we have problems with the spill and the moratorium, and wetlands. Anyway, we just like him, period!
His parents were not citizens of the U.S. when he was born. Depending on what definition you go by that means he is not a natural-born citizen
He’s an excellent governor but he comes across poorly on screens. He’s quirky. He might pass as a veep candidate if he matures as a politician.
But not as U.S. citizens, which many people around here claim denies him natural-born citizenship status.
I think the obscure case law that people refer to is being in this country legally.
If they were here as “landed immigrants” i.e. Green Card, then that qualifies them even in the most extreme reading of the law as Natural Born. The goal is that for you to be Natural Born your parents must be citizens. Even if they become citizens after you are born (but before you are 18)
Obama does not qualify (under this scenario) as his dad never was a citizen when Obama was born.
Now, even in the above case, you could argue, his Mom’s citizenship should have transferred (and it probably does), but the fight then remains is whether baby Barack abandoned his claim to citizenship when he became an Indonesion (during his Sortero phase)
Now, actual case law, only has to do with actual birth. If Obama actually ever produces the Long Form, many of us (including me) will accept him as Natural Born. It may not satisfy everyone but a Long Form will at the very basic level.. be just OK. Not truly OK... but still.. I would not continue the Birther fight anymore
It doesn’t matter whether one’s parents are citizens by statute, naturalized citizens, or native born citizens: what matters is they NOT be citizens of a foreign nation.
Bobby Jindal was born four (4) months after his parents arrived in the U.S. They were legal alien residents who intended on becoming citizens of the U.S.A. when their son was born here. That makes Bobby Jindal a ‘native born citizen’ but NOT a ‘Natural Born Citizen’ as per the U.S.Constitution.
Here’s why. The U.S. government only recognizes three types of citizenship: native born citizen; citizen by statute; and, naturalized citizen. By themselves, none of them alone meets the Article II reguirement for eligibility to be President.
‘Natural born citizen’ is NOT a type of citizenship — it is a U.S.Constitutional requirement for eligibility to be President of the United States of America. This requires that a person, to be considered a ‘Natural Born Citizen’ must meet two of the types of citizenship combined: native born (born in the U.S.A.) and citizen by statute (to parents who are citizens of the U.S.A.).
I'd be interested in knowing what you're basing that on.
Obama does not qualify (under this scenario) as his dad never was a citizen when Obama was born.
Neither of Jindal's parents were citizens when he was born. They may have been here legally, but so was Obama's old man.
So, here is the clear nutshell:
1. See my entire previous post. If Obama can produce the long form, I accept him as a “Natural Born”
2. The 14th amendment gives the “natural born” designation to anyone who was born here
3. The Supreme court decision in 1898 (US vs Wong Kim Ark) clearly establishes that if non citizen parents are in this country legally and have established “permanent domicile” then their kid is a “natural born citizen”

You are confusing the issue with Barry Bam Bam Sortero
1. People claim that he abandoned his citizenship (renounced) when he changed his name to Sortero and became an Indonesian
2. People claim that his Dad was subject to British Nationality Act and thus his child automatically was a British Overseas Citizen. Since the US does not de Jure allow dual citizenship, hence the election of the citizenship status of Barry Obama was made de Facto by British law
If YOU are born in this Nation, it doesn’t matter where your parents are born. If you are born overseas, THEN your parents Nation of Birth matters.
Then, My dear Americans, ask him why he has NOT BEEN IN HIS STATE OF ELECTION for the last few months? For da sheet, dear old Bobby has been doin’ a lotta candidatin’ lately, for other folks in other states, leaving a slidin’ scale stinky budget and jobs gone report!

BTW, before you ask.. the Court applied English Common Law as it found nothing to overturn it.
Our judicial system is based on English Common Law, which means that Engish Common Law prevails unless we overwrite it with our own law and our English Common Law can provide precedence
