Clemmons wrote a letter to Huckabee, saying he was seeking compassion and mercy: God Bless You
It is so prayed! Asked the grounds for his request, Clemmons checked a box for excessive sentence. He also checked this box: My institutional adjustment has been exemplary.
But Clemmons adjustment had been just the opposite. The same year he filled out this clemency application, the Arkansas Department of Correction reduced Clemmons time in prison to this damning score sheet:
Disciplinaries: 29 Times.
Achievements: None.
In May 2000, Huckabee granted Clemmons plea for clemency, citing Clemmons youth when sentenced. The governor commuted the sentences for four of Clemmons eight felony convictions, making him immediately eligible for parole.

I think Huckabee should be held equally responsible for any crimes committed by this criminal while he’s out of jail.

There is an
update to the story. I'm no supporter of Huckabee (I don't think I could pull the lever for him in '12 if he is the GOP candidate), but I don't think all of the problem lies solely on his shoulders.

Where can I find an in-depth rebuttal by Mr. Huckabee?

ALREADY DISPROVEN SLIME!!!
Hackabee acted on onformation he was given.
The people who gave him the info intended to deceive him into an act of political suicide.

This isn’t the first roundup for the Huckster.
He has been integral in other serious lacks of judgement when it comes to releasing dangerous criminals.

I wish it were that simple. Here is part of what he currently describes as his thought process in the commutations:
Huckabee: “Blacks comprise 15% of the states population, but 50% of the inmate population, some of which is due to the fact that their sentences are often longer and they are less likely to be paroled.”

Blacks comprise 15% of the states population, but 50% of the inmate population,... I notice that he doesn't mention the percentage of crimes committed by blacks.

This is an old story. Why bring it up again now, that Huck isn’t running for any office?

This is an old story. Why bring it up again now, that Huck isnt running for any office? Look at the date of the article(s).
October 18, 2010. That's today.
Oh, and Huckabee is sure thinking about running for something. Otherwise he wouldn't have his people and himself in Iowa, would he?

We watch Huck’s show every Sunday night on FOX. He’s doing a fine job... and needs to stay there.
