Jill Rowland takes on Louise Slaughter
Democrat and Chronicle ^ | October 7, 2010 | Brian Tumulty

The Republican challenger is pragmatic about her long-shot candidacy.

Rowland has been operating her campaign on a shoestring, spending only $376 through Sept. 2. As of that date she had raised less than $5,000 and had contributed only $250 of her own money.

Even so, Rowland said she’s hoping to raise $100,000 for the race. Her campaign strategy involves personal exposure, attending public events, knocking on doors and doing interviews on radio and with other media.

And she’s tapping into voter frustration with the federal government.

“Right now there is a ruling elite party in Washington to tell you how to live,” Rowland told 13 voters who gathered Tuesday night at Bathtub Billy’s in Rochester at an event organized by We Surround Rochester, a group that says it’s affiliated with the 912 movement started by Fox News TV host Glenn Beck. Rowland agreed with audience members that the Federal Reserve should be audited and that the Bush administration’s tax cuts should be permanently extended.

I wanted to call attention to this contest as Louise Slaughter is the author of the Slaughter Solution (i.e. deem that the House passed Obamacare rather than putting it to an actual vote).

If ever there was a Democrat deserving of takedown, it is this dreadful woman, Slaughter.

The article is also very informative about how Dems finance their congressional contests. Apparently, Ms Slaughter was assessed $500,000 for her chairmanship on the Rules Committee.

I don't know if a money bomb and a spotlight can change the outcome of this race, but it seems like a worthy challenge.

Maybe we can “deem” Slaughter to be defeated.

If ever anyone represented the worst excesses of this Congress, it is this scheming old hag.

The other thing, is this:

Even on Levin’s Facebook page, other conservatives will see your post, which might help.

Levin worries about having too many candidates on the air, but I enjoy hearing about these fresh, new candidates. And it is very hard to find out (on your own, if you aren’t local) who is opposing these miserable incumbents. I can’t donate to each and every one of them, but many of them have avenues for us to volunteer our time, if not our money.

I’m sorry now that he hasn’t been interviewing two candidates each day, one at the bottom of the first and second hour. It is neat to see how many citizen patriots are willing to unseat these bastards, regardless of the odds.

I’m praying he has time for Pollack (Schakowsky) and Bielat (Frank).

If either Schakowsky or Frank could be defeated, I don’t know what I would do, out of sheer joy!

Hi, thanks for the info. I am not on Facebook. I have a horror of stolen identity etc.

Since some of you are on Facebook and visit Levin’s page, is there a way you could bring the Rowland-Slaughter contest to his attention?

Oh crap, I’m not on Facebook either! (I have an ex-husband and ex-boyfriends. LOL)

Here’s what you do:

Go over to General Chat or the GOP Smoky Room thing or whatever. Make a vanity plea for a Facebook user to hit up Mark Levin’s Facebook site with a “shout out” for Dr. Rowland. I didn’t even know she had an opponent, that witch Slaughter. Maybe the voters there don’t know they have a choice!

Put together a nice post, complete with links, and I promise the FReeper community will come to the rescue!

:)

I don’t know how to do it, but see if there is a Tea Party in that area. You might wanna try Tea Party Express first, and go from there. If one exists, they can supply “boots on the ground.”

The other thing, to keep in mind, is a lot of these miserable, entrenched incumbents behave as though they have NO opponent, as Barney Frank tried to do. THEY HAVE CONTRIBUTED THEIR MONEY TO OTHER DEMOCRATS IN TROUBLE, thinking they are going to skate to victory in their own race.

They hold no events, they run no (or very few) commercials. They regard their re-election/coronation as automatic.

These are exactly the candidates who are ripe for a November 2 surprise.

Ping me on your candidate!

She has a website!

Another pretty, accomplished, conservative Mama Grizzly, if you ask me!

If Schakowsky, Frank and Grijalva all lose, you know it was the hand of God. I’ve often wondered about Devine intevention, we might see it this Nov.

Email Hannity and tell him to get off his ass and have her on his radio or tv show. She’s running in New York. His show is out of New York!

He needs to get his act together, seriously.

Yet another good candidate for the GOP

I wonder if all the MD’s and Dentists could pull together and get some of their own elected.

Slaughter is among the worst of the worst. But she is almost untouchable in this gerrymandered hyper-leftie district.

A few days ago, a Pajamas Media article made the case that much of the Tea Party is comprised of medical professionals. Perhaps someone out there has it.

Btw, it’s not out of the realm for FreeRepublic to be the spark to put someone over.

I made a post, in late December of ‘09 about a candidate. I begged to mods to leave it up, as it was a bit racy; it involved the candidate posing (in his youth) in a magazine. The mods were tolerant and gracious and left it up. That said, it started a bit of a fire here on FR (it had a lot of replies, look it up!) It ended up generating money. And it energized our New England FReepers, who seemingly always take it on the chin, loyal as they are. It’s not about me, because someone else would have surely done such a post, but it IS about how regular people can suddenly make a difference. Once people know there is a change, magic can happen. And you know it was Scott Brown.

Miracles can happen. We know, because we saw it right here on Free Republic. The “Kennedy Seat.”

heh

Here's how to start the money bomb:

TO THE LEFT: Lying incumbent who accuses her constituents of being forced to use someone else's false teeth - just to get Obamacase passed, and REFUSES to hold town hall meetings. TO THE RIGHT: A Dentist who's hard earned money is extorted to support people such as the one on the left

Now, honestly: Who would you want to look at for the next 2 years representing upstate New Yorkers?

When you come up with your answer, drop by here
