A court says San Diego firefighters cannot be forced to participate in homosexual "pride" parades -- and that the city's forcing four of them to do so three years ago subjected them to "sexual harassment."
Four San Diego firefighters filed suit against the city in 2009 and won in the case surrounding their forced participation in a 2007 "gay pride" parade. The city, however, appealed that decision -- and Alliance Defense Fund attorney Joe Infranco tells OneNewsNow that the appellate court agreed Thursday with the lower court.
"[The court found] that they had been sexually harassed by the city's compelling them to take part in a so-called 'gay pride' parade -- and they said essentially the city of San Diego did not have a right to force these firefighters to take part," the attorney summarizes.
In its ruling, the California Court of Appeal for the Fourth Appellate District, Division One, stated "that the record contains substantial evidence to support a finding that the sexual harassment experienced by the Firefighters during the Pride Parade was severe and pervasive, thus altering the conditions of employment and creating a hostile or abusive work environment."
According to Infranco, what the firefighters had to endure during the parade is difficult to describe in polite company.
"They were subject for three hours to hundreds and hundreds of lewd gestures [and] cat calls," he explains. "They saw people gyrating and pantomiming sex acts, and wearing [sexually graphic] outfits and engaging in behavior...that would be embarrassing to discuss."

Hmmmm....gay ‘pride’ seems to be virtually synonymous with lewd behavior.
So now they WANT to force it on people. Wow. They say they want tolerance or even acceptance but they won’t stop there.

Good for the firefighters. Now, the out and militant lesbo fire chief needs to lose her job. This was an unforgivable misstep, especially when the firefighters came to her to protest and she gave them her backside.
How they force their agenda on us is terrible.
“Sexual harassment” is only part of what they endured. I know our society is overly litigious, but an intentional infliction of emotional distress case would be appropriate here. To deliberately force them under threat of job loss to participate in an event the court basically describes as pornographic in nature — made all the worse by the fact that the crowd KNEW the firefighters did not want to be there and probably amped up the abuse because of that — is humiliating and degrading.
That should be the cause of action against the lesbian chief.

Woo Hoo! This should energize people - they cannot be forced to asoociate with/applaud/tolerate/celebrate mentally ill perversion, especially as part of their job! May this be like a stone dropped in a pond that creates many ripples. (maybe bad analogy...) We need more lawsuits like this. Fight the enforcement of leftist agendas by any and all means!

Because we as a people tolerated and even changed our laws to permit these types of behaviors in our bedrooms, we should not be surprised when it comes into our living rooms via the net and TV, and then - of course - into our streets.
We did follow the chief' s order and took part in the parade to avoid any disciplinary action . While moving down the parade route we were subjected to verbal abuse, (show me your hose, you can put out my fire, give me mouth to mouth, fuck you fireman) sexual gestures , (showing their penis, blowing kisses, grabbing their crotch, rubbing their nipples , tongue gestures , flipping us off)- We were subject to this type of abuse and more throughout the parade route . You could not even look at the crowd without getting some type of sexual gesture . Even the Christian protesters were giving us grief for being a part of this.
Just as I knew all along: homo agenda is that when they rape, it’s not rape, it’s love, and fighting back is a hate crime. I am surprized the Feds are not yet sueing those firefighters for hate crime for daring to work.
War is when one’s business is stopped by government, it is welfare and socialism of foot dragging welferites and special budgetized groups like the homos.

The 2009 jury found the firefighters were sexually harassed by some parade participants and spectators and awarded them a total of $34,300 plus more than a half-million dollars in legal fees. The firefighters, John Ghiotto, Chad Allison, Jason Hewitt and Alexander Kane, had always maintained money was not the issue and that they had sued because they felt it was wrong to have been forced by their superiors to take part in the parade.
By 2008 the fire department had changed its policy saying parades should be staffed only by volunteers.

... Gina Coburn, a spokeswoman for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, said the city has not yet decided whether to take the case to a higher court.

... The individual firefighters were awarded damages ranging from $5,000 to $14,200. The trial court also awarded attorney fees to the firefighters in the amount of $532,980 and costs in the amount of $61,383. Those fees and costs, plus 7 percent interest, must be paid, according to the appellate ruling.
In addition, fees for fighting the appeal will also be assessed in an amount to be determined later.
This was the second time the firefighters went to trial on the sexual harassment claim. A jury deadlocked in October of 2009. In that trial, the jury was asked to award each firefighter up to $1 million. LiMandri didn’t request a specific figure in this trial.
Frankly I'd have quit and waited it out.
