In a bruising Senate debate, independent candidate Gov. Charlie Crist brought up that Republican Marco Rubio has "turned his back" on his Hispanic family.
Crist threw the jab citing a newspaper article about Rubio's stance on immigration. The claim came during a televised between Florida state Speaker Rubio, Crist, and Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek, set to air on the FOX Tampa affiliate WTVT at 6:30pm ET Friday.
"These are their [the newspaper's] words, not mine speaker, that you have turned your back on your Hispanic family, and they think that is inexcusable," Crist said.
Rubio, who is of Cuban heritage but was born in Florida, didn't take it that way and fired back, "We're all used to hard knock politics but that's quite frankly governor, offensive and outrageous for you to talk about me turning my back on my Hispanic family. It wasn't me, it was LaGaceta talking about it, a great newspaper. You've already attacked the congressman's [Meek] mom in an ad and now you're attacking my family."

I had thought that Charlie Crist was ridiculous. I was wrong, he’s scum. I’m glad his career is over.

To me, Rubio is a moderate, especially on immigration, but is nonetheless worthy of support. Crist is a madman.

Ethics and morals are for the masses, not for the elites in the power structure of the Democrat party or of those who would govern by any-means-necessary.
The evil that they deny exists is only too evident when they come up against opposition.
This country of the people, by the people shall perish if these type of leaders continue to be elected.
Our job as true patriots is not merely to defeat the democrats/rino’s next month but, to awaken the spirit and conscience of the true cause that birthed the United States to begin with: Liberty over Tyranny. IMHO

Crist and Murkowski were flushed out and exposed for what they are this primary cycle, but the GOP has plenty of other unprincipled hacks who’d be perfectly happy to throw away every political position they ever claimed to hold if it meant they could hang on to power. And too many Republicans are busy defending and protecting these hacks - Jim DeMint is being threatened with punishment by fellow GOPers for calling them out.
I would have paid serious bucks to see Rubio had shoot back that Charlie has turned his back on his Gay family.
Charlie Crist is worse than pond scum. MANY people in the Tampa St. Pete area know who Charlie really is. He used to frequent the Green Iguana.
Of course he’s gay, just like Obongo is gay. They both have ‘beards’ to cover it up. I wish a reporter would ask ole Charlie about his days and nights spent at the Green Iguana.
