He’s preaching to the brain dead.
Instead of offering a straight answer, you informed me that I was part of a "reckless" group that had made "bad decisions" and now required your guidance, if only I'd stop "resisting" it.
I really loathe that arrogant putz.
I guess the lefties will be out to get Home Depot now. I’ll make sure to shop there this weekend.
He, like all marxists, wants all business in the hands of the government. See communist manifesto.
My question to you was why, during a time when investment and dynamism are so critical to our country, was it necessary to vilify the very people who deliver that growth? Instead of offering a straight answer, you informed me that I was part of a “reckless” group that had made “bad decisions” and now required your guidance, if only I’d stop “resisting” it.
I’m sure that kind of argument draws cheers from the partisan faithful. But to my ears it sounded patronizing. Of course, one of the chief conceits of centralized economic planning is that the planners know better than everybody else.
says it all
“It’s worth adding that it makes little sense to send Treasury checks to high net-worth people in the form of Social Security. That includes you, me and scores of members of Congress. Why not cut through that red tape, Mr. President, and apply a basic means test to that program?”
So the government made a “deal” (like we had a choice) with the people, and because of its own irresponsibility is unable to honor it, so it should be allowed to simply renege where it sees fit?
It’s now clear to everyone who once believed otherwise: Barack Obama at his core is anti-business. We on FR knew this before he was elected. A lot of very smart people confessed to me they thought he’d would be another Clinton, i.e., a guy who talked leftist policy but in the end was good for business. I guess they really weren’t paying attention, then or now.
