Military Ballots Late? UNACCEPTABLE. What To Do?
Freeper Activism ^ | 10/16/10 | ez

It seems that there are several instances of military ballots not being sent on time. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE in America.

WE all rermember judges keeping the polls open in St. Louis and New Jersey in the past, because lawyers went before them claiming some couldn't vote.

It is time to do that here. The purpose of this thread is for knowledgeable FReepers to tell us what steps must be taken to get the judiciary to extend these elections until all military ballots have been able to be counted.

If we lose control of the vote, we lose control of the Republic.

Please advise your fellow conservatives who can be called or petitioned to allow these ballots to be counted even if they're late.

Fine and imprison those responsible for not sending the ballots as required by law. Extending a voting period is daangerous as it gives the left more time to rig the vote count.

BINGO! Exactly, no winner can be declared until every military ballot is counted. If ONE soldier from that district is disenfranchised, there is no winner.

The election can take place and end on 11/2 as planned.

A remedy exists to punish those responsible. Apply each missing military ballot as a vote for his or her non-incumbant state rep, state senator, US congressman, US senator. Just analyzing the probably military disenfranchised voter's intent. No chad forensics required.

Good luck. I had trouble getting my ballot when I was overseas in 1996. It's been a problem for a long time. During W's years in office, Robert Novak wrote several columns about it.

You'd think that, since the military leans Republican, it was in Bush's best interest to remedy the problem, but he didn't. It hasn't been a priority for any Congress or President (or jounalists aside from Novak), no matter what party.

One of Novak's columns: The Soldier Voting Scandal

My understanding is there were no penalty guidelines set out in the law when it was written, and therefore the democrats are able to skirt the law without consequences. It is something that has to be fixed by Congress.

I think in the meantime if you live in New York or Illinois you need to find out the people that were in charge of getting the ballots ready on time. Find out where they live and work. Stand in front of their home or place of work with signs asking why they won’t allow our brave to vote. Harrasing people at home is a dem tactic so I’m sure there won’t be any problem with it.

I also think you have to get their names on as many websites as possible. The reason I suggest these things is at least their friends and neighbors and children can know the kind of character these people have. I’m not sure they are capable of feeling shame, but doing nothing is only encouraging more of this kind of behaviour. If you can get a local newspaper interested in helping you all the better.

Moochele is pandering for votes INSIDE polling places. A blatant and arrogant disregard for the law. Not much is being said about that either.

The military leans right, the political appointees lean hard left in DC.

Maybe ask Fed Ex or UPS or the airlines to put on special flights back to the US?

Maybe have a whiskey resupply flight return with ballots?

How about immediately jailing the bureaucrats who are responsible for getting the ballots out?

Make it a felony conviction so they can no longer hold public office and keep them in jail for a long enough period of time to get the message through. Tack on the maximum fine for each offense.

Their replacements will think twice before pulling this stunt again.

Require that state primary elections be held at least 90 days before the general election, to allow the printing and mailing of all absentee ballots.

In New York the primary is held the second Tuesday in September. I say it’s too close to the general election.

State level lawsuits and injunctions against the Secretary of State in that state.

Injunction would delay certification of the election vote count until all the returned absentees have been counted, time limit two weeks after election.

The problem becomes one of standing and authority. Also if the SoS has been turned, what about the AG and the top three judges?

All of these SoS’s in these states certified all of the presidential candidates last time around, some even allowed a declared non-citizen on the ballot.

I don’t believe DOD has the authority to sue a state, that would be the most powerful. Other than driving an Abrams up the capitol steps into the foyer of the legislature in those states, one step up from the Battle of Athens Tennessee.

Fed Ex can get it there overnight.

Why in the hell, in this age of computers, tele-communications, jets can't we move a few pieces of paper in a day or two?

Have the Military tally the ballots in the field, and send the results back in a diplomatic sealed pouch.

There are a lot of ways to do it, but first, you have to have the will to do it.

I have been told by a relatively reliable source that unless the outcome of any given election is doubtful (ie. close) they don’t even bother to count the absentees, local or military. Anyone know about this?

I suggest that the DOJ put their two best agents on the case and see if they can't get to the bottom of it.

They said on Fox that both Fed Ex and UPS have offered to handle ballots FOR NO FEE, AND IT IS THE POSTAL UNIONS BLOCKING THEM FROM DOING IT THAT WAY.

And that IL flat out lied about getting the ballots mailed in time, when in fact they did not.

This is absolutely infuriating and sabotage - maybe treason.

New Mexico, of course... But our SOS (and the previous one) is under investigation by the FBI and State Attorney General alredy so... NM hasn’t had a republican SOS since the 20’s IIRC.
