Karl Rove will forever be tainted as a ‘good old boy’ his petulance on the night of Ms. O’Donnell’s primary election.

Yes, he does look like their ‘pet’
For every election since whenever I can remember, it sure seems like the Republican candidate always fairs better on election day, win or lose, than what the polls say.
“...a Rasmussen poll found shed cut Coonss lead to 51-40 percent.”
Polls. Newsies use polls to influence public opinion. Their goal is to discourage republican or conservative turnout. Nothing new here. I remember news outlets reporting Carter leading Reagan by 11% the week prior to the 1980 election. It was all BS. I believe most rat Bolshevik candidates trail by much further margins than are being reported in these polls.
All the more curious why Barnes, Kristol, Kraughthammer, et al, all trashed her. Thanks for laying all your cards on the table, guys. Suspicions confirmed.....
Let's hope Christine can overcome all the odds. If anyone can do it, she's the one!
I believe that most red blooded Americans love an underdog. After all, we’ve been underdogs many times, starting with the Revolutionary War...
That is true of EVERY Senator, EVERY Member of Congress, and of the POTUS and VPOTUS since 1956, and probably before.
The two problems are, a) the process has been captured by the media and by finance, and nobody who is both normal and mentally healthy can put up with what they dish out, and, b) Most normal and mentally healthy people don't believe, if elected, that they could do anything that would change a).
Perhaps that is changing.
The anti-O'Donnell campaign (which has almost nothing to do with Coons, and is being run from outside of Delaware) is the laboratory to discover the best line of attack against Sarah Palin.
The issue of experience is different for a legislator or a judge than for an executive.
We can suppose that somebody with private-sector experience has an appreciation of the cost side of taxes and regulations. Therefore, even if that person is not ideologically committed to a free economy, he or she will consider cost as well as benefit with regard to economic legislation.
Somebody who is ideologically-committed to a free economy, doesn’t need the private-sector experience. But, for those who aren’t ideologically-committed, real-world experience can be an antidote for the propaganda that passes for “education” nowadays.
Our country’s problem is that the government is dominated by people who have no private-sector experience and are ideologically-committed to socialism.
If her job was one I had no respect for? I don't know what her job was that's why I asked; but if she is whom she says she is and you want her to be a leader in this country, then I hope she proves she can be all you want her to be. I had to think what job a woman could hold I would not have respect for--would have to be a corrupt position, a criminal enterprise etc.. A honest job is just that, a job that is necessary to pay the bills.
The men being effected by women's lib - I think most are way past those days when those who sought out the limelight and were reported by the media as leaders under that banner were only in the spotlight for themselves-ignoring women's issues [which we can all name] that has continued around the world in horrific circumstances-acid thrown on women in the Middle East. etc. Now, women following in their footsteps seems the gay agenda, same sex marriage is their priority.
However, there will always be prejudice by some insecure males over the level of power a woman "should" achieve, even serving in the military; but think that will always be, as a "personal" issue.
Thanks.
Somebody with private-sector experience must know what they are selling-and that requires knowledge and complete understanding of what the product is. But they can be removed "quickly" and; of course, replaced..should their company start to fail. The Board can say "out", the shareholders can vote "out or my money is out".
Of all the Senate seats up for grabs, I want this one to go R more than any of them. I know of only 3 ads she’s put out so far, but I don’t live in Delaware. I hope she starts swamping the airwaves with negative ads before it’s too late.
“This seems like an unusually positive article. It does seem like we’re on a roll.”

To me, Barnes merely states the obvious:
“ODonnell, it turns out, is an excellent campaigner, knowledgeable on issues and confident in making the case for conservative policies.”

I am glad to see the Weekly Standard gradually coming around to face the reality that has been apparent to us for months. Christine O’Donnell was a much better candidate than Castle, and she defeated him rather easily (with a record turnout, no less) in spite of his unbroken string of statewide victories over the last four decades.
Coons is a terrible candidate with no record of electoral success at the state level. Castle, while old and liberal, at least had a reservoir of good will from years as Governor and Congressman and a modicum of Yankee dignity and reserve that is sorely lacking in Coons. Yet the MSM and its “conservative” lapdogs like the forgettable guy from the Weekly Standard, John McCormack, not only slammed O’Donnell but immediately rushed to anoint Coons as the inevitable winner, just as they had done with Castle.
Now, as they see her inevitable rise and looming victory, the so-called “conservative” Establishment media and punditry are backpedaling not (I am afraid) because they see her victory as an advance for conservative constitutionalism (which it clearly will be), but rather to preserve their credibility, which is in tatters this cycle and which stands to be dealt yet another stinging blow by the ascendancy of Christine O’Donnell.
No, most posters (one gave a good example but not much detail) have repeated what she has said she will do, but being good on TV can't be the main criteria, although it certainly helps to please your audience.
They do trust her, that's an achievement, so hope they are not disappointed.
Thanks, BC. Very astute. As usual.
Yup. All inside the beltway snots, each and every one of them.
30 yrs old; U.S. citizen for 9 yrs; a resident of the state elected to represent.
That's it people. The above "qualifications" are all you need to run for the the U.S. Senate. Not only is Christine O'Donnell perfectly qualified to run for senate in Delaware, but the majority of Freepers on this thread are qualified to run for senate in their states as well.
So please, enough of this nonsense about who is and isn't qualified to run for U.S. senate.
The U.S. senate is NOT a steppingstone for some career bureaucrat with a law degree. That mentality is exactly how we got ourselves into this mess to begin with!
We need more regular citizens occupying our elective offices.
If she’s in the U.S. senate on what particular issue do you suppose Miss O’Donnell would advance, or vote on, that would run counter to conservative tenets?
