Christine O’Donnell, Delaware’s Republican Senate candidate, surprised her Democratic opponent, Chris Coons, by raising more than twice as much money in the three months ending Sept. 30, according to the campaigns.
O’Donnell also has twice as much money in the bank for the final stretch of the campaign.
O’Donnell’s campaign and Federal Election Commission records show that the Republican raised $3.9 million in July, August and September; Coons reported raising $1.5 million.
She also ended the quarter with a bigger bank balance — $2.6 million – compared with Coons’s $1.3 million, fund-raising reports show. O’Donnell was the upset winner of a Republican primary in August, beating Republican Rep. Michael Castle, who was considered a shoo-in for the Senate seat formerly held by Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden and President Barack Obama traveled to Wilmington, Del., today for a fund-raiser for Coons.

Coons, the Marxist liberal being given a pass by the Piss-Stream Media.
Chris Coons of Delaware - 'I studied under a bright and eloquent Marxist
professor at the University of Nairobi'
screw the rat basterd republican backstabbing socialist light party ! !
bring the troops home to attack capital hill and rout the enemy within ! ! !~ !
I sent my TX $$$.
Lol, I wasn’t asking out of concern for the source in the terms you refer to. The reason I asked is because if all or mostly all of the contributions she’s receiving are coming from out of state, the fact that she’s outraising Coons 2 to 1 it says nothing good about in-state voter support, which of course is what she needs in order to win the election Nov. 2. OTOH, if the money is mostly coming from in-state, then the new poll jump may be just the tip of the iceberg.
In the final days, she needs to attach Obama around his neck like a millstone.
sheesh. spell checker is our friend.
please pardon me, I was under the impression that this forum is about the exchange of conservative idealism and not an english grammar symposium .
IMO a more appropriate response would be to the concept and not to the minutia of correct spelling
I sent her $100. America doesn’t need another loser like Coons.
Now THAT’s more like!! ;-)
Boy, getting near to being tapped out this season, there were just too many good candidates to donate to, who were close to knocking off a Democrat. I hope at least 80% of them bring home the bacon on Election night in Nov. There will be so many interesting races to watch, I dont know if I will get any sleep.
I’ve contributed a lot also including local races. It’s time for change and when it happens I want to say I played a part.
This would be the sweetest win...and she’s on track, given her primary election.
I haven’t kept up today...why are Obama and Biden campaigning for the Bearded Marxist?
Does Obama need a win so deperately that he will campaign for a supposed “shoe in”?
From TCJ poll released tonight:
500 LIKELY VOTERS:
COONS 50%
O’DONNELL 42%
“COD now getting 82% of the GOP vote, up from 73% in the previous poll.”
A huge wast of valuable resources, on a futility corrupt population.
Is it me or does this Coons character look like Sid Fields of the old Abbott and Costello show?
Her campaign team must be composed of total idiots.
They wasted money putting up dumb ads like the “I'm not witch ad”. An independent group actually made a great ad for Christine O’donnel, “Chris toons the taxman”. she should just run that ad.
Spend wisely, my child
Anyone wanna bet she uses most of it to pay rent & live off of for the next several years?
Question, if she raises more than she need, what happens to the unspent portion after the elections are over?
