Eight illegal immigrants, including two identified as being of Middle Eastern descent, have been turned over to federal authorities following two related traffic stops by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and other agencies near Gonzales this week.
DPS troopers made seven arrests early Wednesday afternoon during a stop on a pickup truck which had been reported stolen. Troopers said the truck attempted to elude the stop on Interstate 10, but following a short chase the driver and passengers bailed out of the vehicle.
Troopers were able to apprehend seven of those. Six were identified as Honduran citizens, while one was described as being of Middle Eastern descent, according to DPS. All seven were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol in San Antonio.
A tip from a rancher who saw some strange men near the road led to a second stop on Thursday morning. Trooper Pat Davis saw a white mini-van which had arrived to pick up six men dressed in black and tried to make a traffic stop.
Following another short chase, Davis was able to take one man into custody. That man was also termed to be of Middle Eastern descent, according to the DPS report, and he was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Houston.
During the search for the suspects, DPS received assistance from the Gonzales and fayette County sheriffs offices as well as the Flatonia Police Department and a DPS helicopter unit.
Haji’s in the wire!
Why bother with any background checks for anyone with an undefended border?
Stop the invasion. Enforce our borders. Feds can’t do the few actual jobs they should have.
Has been for a while it seems
Once he decided to refuse to bargain earlier with the committee (like a month ago, I think), I just had to think the man is so arrogant as to believe he did nothing wrong - that he’s above the law.
Mockery is too good for him. Jail would just be a start of justice.
If he was dressed in a fashion so as to try and blend in with the other Hispanics caught and tried to pass himself off as a Hispanic before being detected, then he should be sent to Gitmo, ASAP.
I understand many mid-easterners are taking Spanish courses just for that purpose.
It is worse than you think. Every time illegals are arrested, the CBP (Border Patrol) puts out a press release, sends it to the state and local papers and the wire service, and posts it on their websites. Most newspapers, except for the little weeklies, don’t even bother to reprint what is already written for them.
Hezbollah, most likely. Chavez has been collaborating with them in Venezuela for years.
We live in a very strange country. We know we have enemies in the Middle East, but we do very little to control our southern border. Instead of protecting us, we get lectures on not being “racist” towards Mexicans and Muslims. We have a strange bunch of political and other opinion leaders in the U.S.
Strange and DANGEROUS.
I assume you’ve all seen the news about the new Pakistani terrorist who’s supposedly already inside the US..Imagine if when he’s captured, it turns out that he snuck into the US by crossing illegally from Mexico..
TX open borders ping
Where the heck is the National Guard? This is an ongoing invasion...and the ‘middle eastern’ mentions are scary.
There one of those on the wall next to my PC.
Like to see them try and *take it*.

There’s a fact!
I have Family in Gonzales. I didn’t get to make the “Come and Take It” Celebration this year.
Ping!
Thanks for the ping; post; thread. BTTT!
