The turn of the twentith century in the US and England it was not any better.

It was a different time. There was neither the understanding of what harm was being done, nor was the technology there to avoid it. Neither can be said about China today. The leadership simply doesn't seem to care.

I disagree. We knew that we were polluting our rivers streams and air. We knew the costs and that the children were dying. Read literature from those days. The pollution was considered an good tradeoff as it is for the Chinese at this time.

neither does the planet....the myth of human causation of global warming is, at best, an al gore attempt to make a fortune......wait a second, he did. Oh wellit remains total nonsense. Can we clean up the environment for each other? of course we can. I was a child in Milwaukee and in those days, virtually everyone had a coal furnace. My dad worked
for Wisconsin ice and coal company and delivered coal to homes and businesses. With luck, they had a coal chute that the truck could reach, but, if not, he carried it in a leather bucket from the truck to their chute. The air in the city was almost yellow during the winter but frankly, I don’t think that it affected the planet one iota.
