Yes, he actually said this in the monster New York Times magazine piece that just came out:
We probably spent much more time trying to get the policy right than trying to get the politics right. There is probably a perverse pride in my administration and I take responsibility for this; this was blowing from the top that we were going to do the right thing, even if short-term it was unpopular. And I think anybody whos occupied this office has to remember that success is determined by an intersection in policy and politics and that you cant be neglecting of marketing and P.R. and public opinion.
Oh where, oh where to begin. First, we have the arrogant assumption that the administrations crime here is getting the policy right. The fact that majority of the country that hates, say, health care reform with the fire of a thousand suns is presumably because they dont know whats good for them. Then the idea that Obama neglected marketing and P.R. and public opinion. The president gave 54(!) speeches on health care reform, including a special joint session of Congress and prime time infomercial. And yet, hes still of the opinion he just hasnt explained it properly or something? Were gonna like this turkey any day now! (Also, the fact hes explaining his policy approach in his eleventy billionth magazine profile should tell you something as president, Obamas even posed for the cover of The American Dog.)

Please, take it with my blessings.
Obama: No Such Thing as Shovel-Ready Projects
Oh yes there is. Thousands of his supporters shoveling our money into their accounts.
“”We probably spent much more time trying to get the policy right than trying to get the politics right””
IDIOT! Again, he’s wrong. All he worried about was the politics......we know everything except the kitchen sink went into the POLICY - all paybacks and at the behest of the lobbyists and special interests he purportedly despises...
Now THAT'S shovel ready!
The article source says “Washington Times” but the actual source is the “Washington Examiner”...
Ah, typo. My bad.
Lincoln, the emancipator of slaves, would approve the destruction of a slaver.
“There is probably a perverse pride in my administration”

Probably?
Since when did the Washington Examiner become the Washington Times?
They are two different newspapers.
The Examiner is the more important newspaper . . the Washington Times is a shadow of what it used to be.
EPIC FAIL on both accounts Mr. Obozo.
He is absolutely looneytunes.
Your razzle dazzle has fizzled. Your footwork has faltered. The smoke has settled and the mirrors are broken, shattered with sharp shards layered all over the floor. Your time in the lime light is over. The hook grabs you. As you are being pulled off stage the curtain falls and boos and hisses fill the air. Hopefully America has learned her lesson and won’t fooled again by the likes of you, at least for a long, long time.
The roman columns have collapsed.
There were TV ads! There were so-called town halls. The MSM was pushing it big time.
What a joke.
Obama admits to his only mistake: not letting the public realize how fantastically wonderful he is.
translation; “I should have paid more idle lip service to the people while I ignored them, instead of just ignoring them.’
This is a man that must have spent his life convening himself and others that people want Marxism. That it’s for “the workers” But as in many cases, the actual “workers” are not that stupid. They know Marxist while promising them the world really aims for nothing more then to make slaves of them all.
This is what Communism has produced every time it has been tried. Indeed this is even the lighter effects of socialism, although the chains of slavery(tax and regulatory) are often better hidden.
But still the Marxist tired old line of “for the working class” marches hoping to run into someone naive or foolish enough to beleive it.
True believers like Obama simply can’t fathom why it wouldn’t be true, just as they can’t fathom why it doesn’t work(basic economics) and ends up only a enslaving an entire population to the Government leaders will.
What is this? Some sort of attemtpt at a Jedi mind trick?
Nanzi Pelosi said that we would find out what was in the bill AFTER it passed.
Which means nobody even knew what was in it. Including you, President Bohica.
From what I have seen little bammy is somewhat of an expert in the field of perverted.
